country: US all locations: [New York, NY Washington, DC] commitment: Full Time - Union department: External Affairs location: New York, NY team: Content, Culture, & Events Purpose: : • This role will collaborate with key members of the External Affairs unit to execute audience-first content and strategies for our social media properties. They will oversee the day-to-day execution of national channels, and manage integration of organizational goals into content development – including prioritizing short and long-term projects along with performing day-to-day responsibilities and rapid response moments. Engagement: : Partner with the Director of Social Media, Health to integrate and execute education and brand-first strategies across national channels to support organizational objectives. Work cross-divisionally to ensure all content is easy to understand and reflects strategic initiatives. Stay at the forefront of platform updates and trends to ensure national social channels remain timely and relevant to audiences. Consult with the research team to track audience behavior and to adopt research into actionable audience development strategies. translate audience trends and insights into actionable audience development strategies. Partner with the External Affairs Unit and other internal stakeholders to scale narratives, ideate, and drive clear, compelling, and cohesive storytelling across all social assets and campaigns that are platform and audience-first. Provide operational support around project management. In partnership with the Manager of Social Strategy and Analytics and Director of Social Media, Health to translate analytics into ongoing enhancements to social media strategy and tactics. Provide tactical support and assistance in coordinating social media work across the Politics, Campaigns, and Health Care Division. In partnership with the Director of Social Media, Advocacy, coordinate and execute c3 advocacy workstreams. Share in social management, rapid response, and on-call support responsibilities of the team.  Proactively escalate issues, observations, opportunities, and insights to the social team Delivery:: The Associate Director, Social Media, Health and Education will manage the execution of platform and content strategy across PPFA’s national social media channels that integrate educational, brand-first storytelling with culturally relevant, social-first formats in the following ways: Lead monthly evergreen content development for the c3 social media properties, setting timelines and reinforcing priorities. Oversees and executes moderation and audience engagement strategies and tactics across c3 national channels. Owns content development of evergreen advocacy assets across c3 social media properties. Develop and deploy an evergreen and campaign paid social strategy, with a focus on emerging and revamped channels. Oversee development and execution of day-to-day content calendars. Ideate and develop growth tactics and concepts to cultivate “defund” audiences for emerging channels, like YouTube and Pinterest. Builds monthly audience analysis reports for emerging channels, like YouTube and Pinterest. Support the development of an ALT text strategy to ensure that all social content is accessible and SEO optimized. Direct and develop campaign strategies and content for peak SRH moments throughout the year (i.e., cervical cancer awareness month, Sex-Ed for All Month, etc) Spearhead the development of sex education response guides to address sexual and reproductive health-related questions received in the comment section or via DMs. Serve as day-to-day reviewer of c3 content calendar. Leverage social listening to ensure that Planned Parenthood is engaging in and leading online discussions around sex education and coordinating with the social and digital teams to respond in comprehensive ways. Support the team in delivering monthly trend reports, inclusive of platform updates, cross-divisionally in the External Affairs Unit and its partners on digital technologies, brands/channels who are innovators, and opportunities for PPFA. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): : 4-6 years of experience in a social media or content marketing role. Strong understanding of the social, digital, and influencer landscape. 3-4 years of experience in sex education, sexuality, sexual health, and/or reproductive health General knowledge of internet culture, the U.S. political landscape, sexual reproductive health, pop culture, and how cultural trends can inform and inspire creative concepts. Ability to build and evaluate content through a racial equity framework. Effective presentation skills and the ability to advocate for innovative and impactful choices. Basic understanding of digital analytics and performance tracking. Ability to analyze content and translate content performance data into recommendations. Responsive and efficient; ability to organize and manage multiple projects, adhering to strict timelines in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to navigate complex organizational structures and partner cross-functionally.
