Custodial and General Maintenance Technician

The Role
This position is responsible for supporting the cleanliness, organization, and general upkeep of the facility. The role focuses primarily on janitorial and custodial duties including cleaning common areas, restrooms, locker rooms, and production support spaces, while also assisting with basic preventative maintenance tasks such as HVAC filter replacement and general facility upkeep. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment for all employees.
Responsibilities
Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of bathrooms, locker rooms, break areas, hallways, offices, and other facility spaces
Vacuum carpets, mop floors, sweep walkways, and maintain overall cleanliness throughout the facility
Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the facility and transport waste to designated disposal areas
Restock restroom and janitorial supplies including paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and cleaning materials
Perform routine laundry duties for facility-use items including rags, uniforms, or other reusable materials
Clean and maintain floor surfaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemicals
Maintain cleanliness and organization of janitorial closets, maintenance areas, and supply storage locations
Perform routine HVAC filter replacement, filter cleaning, and other basic preventative maintenance activities
Assist with general facility upkeep including minor repairs, painting touch-ups, and basic maintenance support as needed
Support unloading freight deliveries and moving supplies or materials when necessary
Maintain inventory of janitorial, maintenance, and repair supplies
Complete assigned work orders and routine facility tasks in a timely manner
Performs all duties in a safe manner, following Company work rules and policies
Ensure compliance with all company policies & required training (Safety, Quality, Regulations, etc.)
Help create a positive environment by maintaining a positive attitude and demonstrating self-motivation
Research, evaluate, and adapt to new methods or procedures in order to meet or exceed operational goals and maintain compliance with applicable regulations
Employee must exhibit personal hygiene and follow the health guidelines set forth by Green Thumb Industries and applicable state regulations while working within the facility
Qualifications
High School Education or GED required; some college or college graduate preferred
2+ years experience in maintenance or similar position preferred
Highly knowledgeable with hand and power tools
Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment
Possesses a high level of critical thinking
Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information
Must work well with others and be able to adapt quickly to changes in policy, procedure and technique.
Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of GTI
Previous cannabis experience not required
Additional Requirements
Must pass any and all required background checks
Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
Must possess valid driver’s license
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
Must be approved by state regulating agency to receive cannabis agent badge
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, climbing, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crawling, seeing and repetitive motions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to work on feet. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds (100 pounds with assistance) AND must be able to do so safely with extreme care and caution.
Work involves daily exposure to allergens (such as cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil).

The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
