The Proposal Specialist will be involved in all facets of proposal development, with the aim of highlighting the Iovino teams’ depth of experience and expertise while ensuring compliant and compelling responses to RFQs/RFPs. In addition, the Proposal Specialist may develop an area of expertise in Marketing, Business Development, or other areas of concentration as deemed necessary by the organization.
II. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in related field (e.g., marketing, business, communications, graphic design)
3-5 years of relevant experience (e.g., proposal or marketing experience in A/E/C or other industry)
Minimum of 3 years of experience with proposal development, including at least 1 year of leading proposals
Associate DBIA professional certification preferred
III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyzing the RFQ/RFP to develop proposal management plans and an understanding of proposal requirements
Assigning proposal development tasks and due dates to the pursuit’s technical and marketing staff
Drafting (including technical writing when necessary), editing and reviewing all proposal material
Ensuring compliance with all RFQ/RFP requirements
Managing the team members involved from proposal conception to delivery
Ensuring the final document is organized and presented in a compelling manner
Leading technical team through presentation preparation and coordinating internal/external meetings and agency interviews
Maintaining positive working relationships with technical and marketing teams
Working with leadership to coordinate strategic proposal materials in alignment with the Iovino brand
Assisting in the development and coordination of general collateral, communications, and other marketing items, as needed
Management of Proposal/Marketing Coordinators and/or Proposal/Marketing Admin, as needed
Additional responsibilities aligned with business development and/or marketing as needed
IV. QUALIFICATIONS OF THE POSITION
Knowledge of A/E/C terms and industry
Knowledge of InDesign, Design-Build procurement method, and/or the Shipley proposal process.
Strong understanding of the organization and its goals
Strong writing experience and skills
Ability to work within stringent deadlines
Inter-personal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and highly organized
Commitment to quality
Ability to multi-task several competing deadlines
Strong management and communication skills to ensure team members are aligned and up-to-date at every stage of proposal development
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, and InDesign)
Strong administration, coordination, and organizational skills
