Overview :
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field. Minimum 8+ years of experience in Automotive Systems Engineering, IVI Architecture, or ECU/System Integration.
This position is focused on the architecture, integration, and system-level design of In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems across multiple vehicle programs.
The architect will be responsible for defining system interactions, ECU communication strategies, interface behaviors, and impact analysis across infotainment and connectivity ecosystems.
The role requires strong systems thinking, communication skills, and the ability to work across multiple engineering domains in a highly collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate understands how requirements, interfaces, and ECU interactions impact overall vehicle behavior and can proactively identify risks, gaps, and failure scenarios early in the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
IVI System Architecture & Integration
Define and support IVI system architecture across infotainment, connectivity, gateways, displays, and vehicle interfaces
Understand and define communication flows between ECUs and vehicle domains
Support system decomposition, feature allocation, and interface definition activities
Develop scalable and maintainable integration strategies across multiple vehicle programs
Support architecture reviews and technical decision-making activities
Interface & Network Communication
Define and analyze ECU communication interfaces using CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and service-oriented communication methods
Understand impacts of requirement or architecture changes across interconnected systems
Collaborate with software, integration, and vehicle teams to ensure interface consistency and system compatibility
Support API and communication interface definition activities
Systems Analysis & Failure Prevention
Perform impact analysis and support failure mode identification activities
Proactively identify system gaps, dependencies, and integration risks
Support root cause investigations and system-level issue resolution
Participate in discussions related to failure prevention and system robustness
Cross-Functional Technical Leadership
Collaborate with architecture, software, validation, HMI, and vehicle engineering teams
Lead technical discussions across multiple stakeholders and engineering groups
Communicate complex technical topics clearly and effectively
Support alignment between teams working across different vehicle programs
Agile Development & Documentation
Work within Agile development environments
Support technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and interface definitions
Participate in planning, design reviews, and engineering alignment activities
Ensure technical decisions and system impacts are properly documented
Profile:
Strong Automotive Systems Architect with hands-on IVI experience
Excellent understanding of ECU interactions, vehicle networking, and interface management
Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
Strong communicator capable of working across highly cross-functional environments
Able to think at system level and quickly understand technical impacts and dependencies
Must Have:
8+ years of experience in Automotive Systems Engineering or System Architecture
Strong experience with Automotive Infotainment (IVI) systems
Strong understanding of ECU communication and vehicle networking
Hands-on experience with CAN and Ethernet communication
Experience analyzing system impacts and interface dependencies
Strong experience working with cross-functional engineering teams
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Experience with requirements and system integration activities
Strong understanding of system interactions across multiple ECUs
Experience working within Agile development environments
Good to Have:
Previous background as Systems Engineer or Requirements Engineer
Experience with MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or SysML/UML modeling tools
Knowledge of SOME/IP, AUTOSAR, or service-oriented architectures
Experience with Jira and Confluence
Experience with infotainment domain controllers or cockpit systems
Exposure to functional safety or failure analysis activities
Experience with connected vehicle or telematics systems
