Quality Assurance Supervisor

About this role

Position Summary  The Crescent Quality Assurance Supervisor (QS) is responsible for ensuring Production / Operational processes meet / comply with applicable Safety, Quality, Regulatory & Customer standards in an environment adhering to Federal Aviation Administration / DCMA / AS9120-compliance.   The Quality Supervisor will work with Cross Functional Leaders and staff to monitor the Crescent Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure routine quality inspection activities and the delivery  of top-quality, conforming service (according to customer specifications). The Quality Supervisor will supervise the Auditing function and work with Quality Account Coordinators to assign auditor workload based on risk.  The Quality Supervisor is responsible for measuring, monitoring and reporting Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and trends while supporting investigations for nonconformances and driving necessary corrective / preventive actions and continuous improvement initiatives.   The Quality Supervisor will operate as outlined in the Crescent Way- 3 P’s:  Purpose  Process  People  While building on our culture of:  Doing it Right  Doing it Safe  Doing it Well  Essential Duties and Responsibilities  Safety  Read and understand the Crescent Safety Playbook – Doing It Safe.  Ensure Safe and well-maintained Work Environment and conditions throughout all work spaces, facility and surrounding areas.  Actively participate in Safety Committee activities and initiatives and champion and engage all staff and employees in cultivating and promoting a Safety-First Culture.   Quality   Support auditing compliance to Crescent QMS to ensure Quality Programs and Systems are intact and meet Regulatory and Customer requirements.  Stay abreast of audit trends to identify areas for risk-based auditing.  Make sure daily and quarterly audit programs are aligned with risk-based analysis.  Support Quality Exception Management/Quality Nonconformance processes and activity.  Support management of nonconformance cages.  Assure nonconforming parts are contained and do not ship (unless otherwise requested by customer quality/engineering personnel).  Support all applicable internal & external (third party, customer and Regulatory) Quality audits and visits.  Measure, monitor and report Quality KPIs (Process Accuracy). Participate as an active member of Project Start Up Teams to ensure Quality considerations and Design Quality have been implemented prior to new project start.  Report site nonconformances and lead quality nonconformity investigations as necessary.  Gather or delegate collection of escapes information.  Support site nonconformance investigation and CAPA activity for operations activity as requested.  Take an active role in leading CAPA investigations for Quality department processes.  Manage Departmental staff and monitor data and productivity of staff, improving team’s efficiency and effectiveness.  Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S activities driving Quality CI initiatives.  Manage scale calibration program, assuring compliance with measurement device procedures and regulations.   Supervise containment and scrapping of hardware and shipping of scrap to customer-assigned scrapping providers.  Help proliferate quality throughout the Parts Fulfillment business.   Productivity   Support Cross Functional Teams to manage and prioritize Quality staffing assignments to ensure auditing and other quality activity is thorough but not intrusive to On-time Delivery or Productivity needs.  Support and review material and workflow processes to ensure Design Quality and maximize production efficiencies.  Champion the Crescent Culture of Doing it Right, Doing it Safe and Doing it Well and abide by all written and understood policies and procedures.  Identify, drive and support Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts.   People   Participate in Crescent talent selection, talent development and recognition processes.  Train and monitor staff as required and perform fair and accurate performance evaluations. Recognize and develop Logistics Quality People so all can meet their greatest potential while proactively addressing areas of conflict and underperformance.  Promote a Work Environment where Crescent People are valued and can safely communicate, grow and develop.   Customer Value   Lead Ensure processes, programs and controls are intact and executed against to deliver top quality service to all Crescent customers.   Financial   Safeguard site Process Accuracy KPI and FTY KPI to meet established targets.  Improve organizational efficiency and reduce system/process wastes.  Conceive / Implement LEAN ideas through Plan-Do-Learn-Do Better (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle.  Monitor variable expenditures on Quality programs to ensure services and pricing needs are met and maximized.   All other duties as assigned, including but not limited to identifying and training an individual capable of successfully completing all stated Essential Duties and Responsibilities as appropriate to maintain integrity of position for progression planning and coverage during times of absence.   Cultural Competencies  Do It Right  Doing what is right for our customers, doing what is right for our company and doing what is right for our People.
