For more information, please visit http://www.onx.com. Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Data Protection L2 Engineer with strong expertise in Commvault and Metallic Backup solutions. The role requires advanced troubleshooting, design, and operational ownership of enterprise backup environments, along with basic (L1-level) HP Storage hardware knowledge to support hardware replacement activities. Key Responsibilities Act as L2 escalation point for data protection incidents, problems, and service requests.Design, implement, and manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions using Commvault and Metallic.Perform root cause analysis and drive permanent fixes for complex backup failures and performance issues.Manage backup policies, schedules, retention, replication, and disaster recovery readiness.Support backup operations across physical, virtual, and cloud workloads.Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for critical incidents and upgrades.Provide guidance and mentoring to L1/L2 teams and review operational procedures.Participate in on-call rotations and handle P1/P2 incidents as required. Storage (L1-Level) Responsibilities Basic knowledge of HP Storage hardware (disk, controller, power supply, cable replacements).Perform or coordinate hardware replacement activities following standard procedures.Work with storage vendors for part replacement and issue resolution. Required Skills & Experience Strong expertise in Commvault Complete Backup & RecoveryExperience with:Windows & Linux serversVMware / Hyper-VDatabases (SQL, Oracle, SAP, Exchange) Cloud backup experience (Azure/AWS)Storage technologies (SAN, NAS, object storage)Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, ports)Upgrades, Enhancements & Optimization. Good to Have Exposure to cloud workloads (Azure / AWS backup integration).ITIL process knowledge (Incident, Problem, Change).Vendor management and documentation experience.  Soft Skills Strong troubleshooting and analytical skillsClear communication and stakeholder managementAbility to work independently in high-pressure situationsTeam mentoring and knowledge-sharing mindset Locations: Chennai, India
