A Day in the Life:
Design and implement secure authentication and authorization flows across backend services using modern identity standards (OAuth, JWT)Build and maintain robust APIs using ASP.NET Core, ensuring security, scalability, and performance within an Azure environmentPartner closely with architects and engineering peers to translate security and identity requirements into scalable backend solutionsLead and support the migration to Microsoft Entra ID, including integration of managed identities and token-based access patternsDevelop and enhance service-to-service authentication mechanisms to support distributed and microservices-based architecturesCollaborate with front-end engineers (Vue, React, or Angular) to ensure seamless and secure authentication flows between UI and backend systemsParticipate in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning with a strong emphasis on secure coding practicesTroubleshoot authentication and access-related issues across environments, ensuring reliability and compliance with security standardsContribute to ongoing improvements in architecture, tooling, and development practices within a cloud-native Azure ecosystem
What it takes:
Strong experience with C# and modern .NET (Core / .NET 6+) for building scalable backend servicesProven experience designing and implementing secure APIs, including authentication and authorization mechanismsHands-on expertise with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including authentication flows and identity managementDeep understanding of token-based authentication (OAuth 2.0, JWT) and how it applies across distributed systemsExperience building and deploying applications within Microsoft Azure, including identity and access management servicesSolid understanding of microservices architecture and secure service-to-service communication patternsAbility to collaborate effectively with architects and engineering teams to align with security and architectural standardsFamiliarity with front-end frameworks (Vue.js preferred; React or Angular acceptable) to support authentication flow integrationExperience working in security-focused or regulated environments is a strong plusExposure to API gateways, identity providers, or advanced access control solutions is preferred
