About the role
The Project Engineering Intern supports construction execution by managing project documentation, maintaining key project controls, and coordinating information flow between field and office teams. This role ensures that construction teams have accurate, timely information and that project records remain complete, organized, and audit-ready.
The Project Engineer plays a central role in maintaining discipline across RFIs, submittals, change management, and close-out documentation—directly supporting schedule reliability, cost control, and successful project delivery.
What you'll do
Project Documentation & ControlsMaintain organized project files and document control systemsTrack drawings, specifications, and revisionsEnsure current and accurate documents are accessible to field teams
RFI, Submittal & Change Management
Log, track, and route RFIs and submittalsFollow up to ensure timely responses and approvalsSupport change documentation and tracking
Schedule & Cost Support
Assist with schedule updates and progress trackingSupport cost tracking, change logs, and reportingCoordinate with cost and procurement teams as needed
Field–Office Coordination
Serve as a communication bridge between field and office teamsSupport superintendents with documentation and information needsHelp resolve information gaps impacting construction progress
Close-Out & Turnover
Support punch list tracking and close-out documentationAssist with as-built collection and turnover materialsEnsure records are complete for project completion
Qualifications
Degree or relevant experience in Construction Management, Engineering, or related fieldStrong organizational and communication skillsFamiliarity with construction documentation and project controlsDetail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesComfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment
