What You’ll Do As Construction Controller, you will own the financial oversight of a globally distributed portfolio of high-integrity land development projects, including off-grid, modular, and coastal luxury builds. Reporting to the VP of Land Development and working closely with Finance and Project Managers, you will: Track project budgetsEvaluate vendor contractsManage cost reportingProactively surface financial risks and opportunities You will serve as the internal control hub for all active projects, building the systems, dashboards, and workflows that give PMs structure while providing leadership with real-time financial visibility. This role is suited for a sharp, detail-driven professional who understands construction dynamics and thrives on budget discipline and operational clarity. Who You Are Construction Finance Specialist – Deep understanding of job costing, draw schedules, and vendor billing structures in the construction spaceControl-Oriented – You thrive on tracking actuals, identifying variances, and reinforcing budget accountability across the teamTool-Savvy and Systems-Minded – You build dashboards, templates, and documentation systems that others can use and scaleCollaborative but Direct – You support PMs and field teams while ensuring cost clarity, documentation, and discipline are never compromisedGlobally Aware – Comfortable dealing with diverse jurisdictions, currencies, and regional vendor practices across North America and the CaribbeanCrisp Communicator – You surface financial issues clearly and early, with structured updates and actionable insights Responsibilities Build and manage detailed construction budgets across all development projectsCreate and maintain cost tracking dashboards with real-time visibility into spend, variances, and vendor performanceWork closely with PMs to validate estimates, track change orders, and ensure scope alignmentReview vendor bids, contracts, and payment terms to ensure cost effectiveness and compliancePartner with internal finance and leadership teams to forecast cash flow needs and financial exposureStandardize financial documentation and reporting for project cost management at scaleEnsure alignment with project timelines, milestone payments, and vendor deliverablesMaintain audit readiness and documentation integrity for all financial activity within the development organization What You’ll Bring 7+ years in construction finance, cost control, or project accounting, ideally with land development or infrastructure experienceProven track record managing budgets on $5M–$50M+ projects across multiple locations and vendorsStrong working knowledge of job costing, vendor billing, and contract structures in constructionHigh proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; bonus for dashboarding tools such as Smartsheet or Monday.comFamiliarity with permitting timelines, milestone-based payments, and contractor compliance standardsAbility to work across jurisdictions and collaborate remotely with internal teams and field-based PMsStrong attention to detail, documentation, and process integrity in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment Compensation This role offers a competitive salary, performance-based incentives, and significant opportunities for career growth within Elevation Capital.
