Title: Summer Youth Development Professional (YDP)
Reports to: Program Director
Salary Range: $16-$17 DOE
Hours: Every day Monday-Friday, both part time and full time hours available depending on Club need
Childcare: 6:30am-6:00pm, Youth and Teens: 9:00am-6:00pm
JOB SUMMARY:
Summer Youth Development Professionals (YDPs) facilitate fun, engaging, and age-appropriate activities for groups of youth or teens from diverse backgrounds during our summer camp programming. Youth Development Professionals run programs, offer support, facilitate field trips, and ensure that every Club Member has an Optimal Club Experience that sets them up for lifelong success.
Successful YDPs have a passion for serving others and contributing to the well-being of the community at large. They are curious, adaptable, and have the ability to connect with young people and offer supportive relationships. They are collaborative team players willing to ensure that Club Members are safe, recognized, and given the opportunity to learn new skills.

Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Plan and implement daily group activities with youth ages 3-5, 6-12, or 13-18Transport, supervise, and facilitate participation in summer field trips (for example: swimming)Establish rapport with youth and provide mentoring, guidance, and role modeling to support their developmentProvide active supervision and engagement at all times and maintain accurate attendanceAbide by and carry out safety policies and procedures
Needed Knowledge:
Ability to work in high-energy, loud, and active settings with large groups of diverse youth or teensAbility to prioritize responsibilities, ensure safety, and accomplish tasks in a detailed, timely mannerExcellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with Club Members, peers, parents, community leaders, etc.Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable with both independent and collaborative processesStrong group management skills, willing to learn and implement trauma-informed practicesWillingness to learn and exemplify social and emotional learning competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making
Requirements:
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalentMust be able to pass a criminal background check, MVR check, and drug screening.18 years and over to work with youth, or 21 years and over to work with teensMust be able to attend mandatory summer training May 26-27
Preferred Qualifications:
21 years and over (to meet driving requirements), and be willing and able to drive 15-passenger vansSpanish/English bilingual
