As a Maintenance Lead Hand, you’ll support the Maintenance Supervisor in the field while helping lead your crew to deliver safe, high-quality work — season after season. If you lead by example and aren’t afraid of hard work, this is your opportunity to grow your career from the ground up.   What You’ll Do Support the Maintenance Supervisor with daily field operationsPerform full-service maintenance: mowing, trimming, edging, hedge trimming, weeding, blowingAssist with occasional softscape installsSupport winter services including snow removal and salt applicationInspect and maintain equipment; report deficienciesParticipate in safety meetings and wear required PPERepresent Horizon professionally and deliver exceptional customer service   What You’ll Bring Minimum 2 years of landscape industry experience (or equivalent education)Experience operating landscape equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers)Knowledge of local plant lifeMechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsStrong communication and problem-solving abilitiesTeam-oriented mindset with natural leadership qualitiesComfort working outdoors in all weather conditionsAbility to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work Horticulture education and industry certifications (Red Seal, CLT, Pesticide License) are assets.   Compensation & Benefits $28–$30/hour based on experienceVacation pay paid out each chequeExtended health, dental & vision after 90 daysRRSP matching after 1 year   The Horizon Journey We believe in growing leaders from within.
