About the Role
The Controller is a senior finance leader responsible for financial integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement within the Finance team. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and alignment with companywide financial processes.
Operating in a fast-paced, international firm, the Controller, Asia Pacific works in close partnership with the US controller and corporate Finance team to ensure consistency, transparency, and scalability across the organization. This role reports directly to the Executive Leadership team and collaborates with regional leaders and Project Managers, and Operations to support sound financial decision making and operational performance.
What You’ll Do
Financial Management & Reporting
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, and projections within the Australian and New Zealand entities. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation functionsProactively manage and forecast regional cash flow.Collaboration with US Controller to ensure consistency in reporting and schedules, accurate roll up into corporate financials, and alignment with corporate calendars.
Compliance & External Coordination
Maintain compliance with local regulatory requirementsEnforce adherence to companywide accounting policies, internal controls, and financial governance. Coordinate with external auditors and tax accountants for annual audits and tax filings.Identify gaps or compliance risks and proactively escalate issues to leadership.
Process Improvement & Systems Optimization
Contribute to process improvement with other finance leaders and leadership team based on overall Company goals and yearly priorities Ensure project management financial controls and company processes are applied consistently while remaining practical and effective for regional operations.Contribute to finance transformation initiatives tied to annual company priorities and long‑term scalability.
Performance & Metrics
Monitor progress achieved against targets and budgets, and provide insight and analysis to support operational decision-making.Research and explain variances, identify emerging risks or trends, and raise concerns early to addressDevelop and improve dashboards that support decision making at project, regional, and corporate levels.
Team Development
Train PM’s on project setup, tracking, and budget managementAssist Australian Management team with review and analysis of financial reportsProvide training on Deltek and assist Operations Manager with accessing and analysing the information neededEnsure regional decisions, processes, and reporting align with global financial strategy, controls, and operating model.Assist Leadership to improve business processes and reporting, leveraging technology to improve communication and efficiency.
