Position Overview
EHS Support is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Contracts Manager to join our Operations team. This role will be responsible for managing contracts across the full project lifecycle, with a focus on risk mitigation, operational efficiency, and alignment with project execution in environmental and construction settings.
This individual will serve as a key partner to Project Managers, Operations, and Leadership, ensuring contracts are structured, executed, and managed in a way that protects the business while enabling delivery. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in contract management and insurance claims, is highly motivated in this space, and is eager to improve processes and drive efficiencies as we continue to scale.
Essential Responsibilities
Manage contracts across the full lifecycle, including review, negotiation, execution, and closeout
Partner with Project Managers and Operations to ensure contracts align with project scope, risk profile, and execution strategy
Identify, assess, and communicate contractual risks, ensuring alignment with the realities of environmental and construction project work
Support and manage insurance claims processes, including coordination, documentation, and resolution
Develop and standardize contract management processes to improve efficiency and consistency across the organization
Work closely with contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and performance expectations
Support vendor and subcontractor onboarding, including contract review and risk evaluation
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure contract terms are understood and properly executed throughout the project lifecycle
Track key contract milestones, deliverables, and obligations to ensure compliance and mitigate risk
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce administrative burden, and improve overall contract management efficiency
Maintain accurate and organized contract documentation and reporting
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with evolving responsibilities and changing business needs.
Experience supporting operational teams, project-level account coordination, and internal business functions beyond core contracts management responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to internal risk mitigation, process improvement, and operational efficiency initiatives.
Collaborative and flexible approach with a willingness to support cross-functional teams and organizational priorities as needed.
Qualifications
4–5 years of experience in contract management, preferably within environmental, construction, or related project-based industries
Experience working with contractors and subcontractors in field-based environments
Strong understanding of contract structures, risk allocation, and insurance/claims processes
Ability to connect contract terms to operational and project risk, and clearly communicate implications to internal stakeholders
Highly driven and motivated to build expertise in contract management and improve organizational processes
Experience in consulting is not required; candidates from state or public-sector contract programs or similar environments are encouraged to apply
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred
