We're seeking a Technical SEO Specialist to support and scale Domaine's SEO practice. This role reports directly to the SEO Director and works closely with Strategy, Engineering, Design, and Content teams. This role is hands-on technical. You'll work with both on on-page technical work and replatforming and migration projects — from pre-migration audits and URL mapping through redirect strategy, post-launch QA, and performance recovery. While strong fundamentals across on-page SEO and content strategy are expected, the primary emphasis is on technical SEO execution and protecting (or accelerating) organic performance through change. RESPONSIBILITIES Migrations & Replatforming Lead the SEO workstream on site migrations: replatforming, domain changes, URL restructures, IA overhauls, design system rollouts, and CMS/PIM transitionsRun pre-migration baselines: full crawls, log file analysis, indexable page inventories, top-traffic and top-revenue page snapshots, backlink profile captureBuild and QA redirect maps (1:1 where possible, intent-matched where not), partnering with engineering on implementation and edge cases (parameters, faceted URLs, pagination, locale paths)Author migration runbooks with risk assessments, go/no-go checklists, staging QA protocols, and rollback criteriaLead post-launch validation: indexation monitoring, redirect health, render parity, schema parity, internal link integrity, Core Web Vitals regression checksDiagnose and recover traffic in the event of post-migration drops; build the recovery roadmap Technical SEO Foundations Conduct technical audits across crawlability, indexability, rendering, site architecture, internal linking, canonicalization, and structured dataDiagnose JavaScript rendering issues (CSR vs SSR vs SSG, hydration, lazy-loaded content) and partner with engineering on fixesOwn Core Web Vitals strategy in partnership with engineering — LCP, INP, CLS — including diagnosis, prioritization, and verificationImplement and validate http://Schema.org JSON-LD across product, collection, article, FAQ, breadcrumb, and organization typesManage XML sitemaps, robots.txt, hreflang, canonical strategy, and pagination handlingRun log file analysis to understand crawl behavior and bot allocation Performance Monitoring & Reporting Track rankings, traffic, indexation, and revenue impact of technical work; communicate clear, prioritized insights to clients and internal teamsBuild dashboards and reports with GSC, GA4, Looker Studio, and SEO platformsStay current on algorithm updates, rendering changes, and emerging discovery surfaces (AI Overviews, AI assistants, GEO) Cross-Functional Partnership Partner with engineering throughout discovery, build, QA, and launch to ensure SEO requirements are scoped, built, and validatedTranslate technical SEO requirements into engineering tickets with clear acceptance criteriaEducate internal teams (Strategy, Design, Engineering, Content) on technical SEO fundamentals and migration best practices Domaine-Owned SEO Support technical SEO strategy for http://domaineworldwide.comPerformance monitoring, indexation health, and technical recommendations SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Required 4+ years of technical SEO experience, with demonstrated ownership of at least two complex site migrations or replatforms end-to-endDeep working knowledge of crawlability, indexability, rendering (CSR/SSR/SSG), canonicalization, hreflang, schema markup, and Core Web VitalsProficiency with technical SEO tooling: Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, log file analyzers (e.g., Screaming Frog Log File Analyzer)Comfort with redirect logic and ability to author and QA large redirect maps (regex-based and 1:1)Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — enough to read code, diagnose rendering issues, and write precise engineering ticketsAbility to communicate technical issues and tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholdersComfortable operating in a fast-paced, build-and-scale environment Strongly Preferred Experience working with ecommerce brandsShopify experience — collection/product URL handling, theme rendering, app conflicts, locale routing, headless setups (Hydrogen)Experience with headless or composable commerce migrationsFamiliarity with edge/CDN-level redirect handling (Cloudflare Workers, Vercel, Netlify) Nice to Have Exposure to AI-powered discovery and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)Experience with international SEO (multi-region, multi-language sites)Experience collaborating with writers, agencies, and cross-functional partners Ideal Candidate Profile Technically deep — excited by the puzzle of large, messy migrations and the discipline of getting them rightStrong communicator who can partner effectively with Engineering, Strategy, and DesignCurious, proactive, and motivated to help build and shape a growing SEO practiceCalm under pressure, especially during launch windowsPassionate about staying ahead of SEO, technical web standards, and discovery trends PERKS & BENEFITS Flexible working scheduleRemote-first cultureContinued education and personal development opportunities We are an Equal Opportunity employer.
