Survey CAD Technician

Legacy Engineering is a woman-owned civil engineering firm specializing in land development design, geotechnical services, construction materials testing and inspections, land surveying, planning consulting, and environmental services. Headquartered in Fredericksburg, Virginia, we serve clients throughout the Commonwealth and beyond We’re hiring a Survey CAD Technician to support land surveying and civil projects through accurate drafting and survey computations. This role partners with project managers to produce high-quality plans on schedule and within budget. You’ll also contribute to team development through training and collaboration. This is a good fit for someone with hands-on AutoCAD experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Perform survey computations and drafting for:House stakeouts and wall checksFinal surveys and house location surveysAs-built surveys and record platsSubdivision layouts and easement platsBoundary and topographic surveys Compile and process survey data (field data, calculations, and hardcopy deliverablesPrepare accurate CAD drawings using AutoCAD/Civil 3D Work closely with project managers to meet deadlines and budget targetsParticipate in internal AutoCAD user groups and ongoing technical trainingSupport additional survey office tasks as needed Skills, Knowledge, Expertise 1–2+ years of survey drafting or survey CAD experienceProficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred but not required)Experience with land surveying workflows, plats, and survey computationsStrong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectivelyTeam-oriented with solid communication and collaboration skills  Benefits 8 Paid Holidays15 days of PTOComprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision Coverage including a no cost employee medical optionHSA and FSA plans availableEmployer paid Short Term, Long Term, Life and AD&D Insurance plans401k plan with up to 5% matchContinuing education and certifications providedAnd many more great benefits including numerous sponsored company events Legacy Engineering is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
