Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The Role We’re hiring a Chief Operating Officer to be the CEO’s execution partner and to run the operating engine of the company. This is not a “process” role. This is a run-the-business role. The COO will own day-to-day operations across Customer Success, Customer Support, Finance, and Commercial execution, and will drive operating cadence, performance management, and cross-functional execution across the company. The CEO will focus on product strategy, strategic partnerships, and M&A; the COO will ensure the company executes with speed, discipline, and clarity. This is a true #2 leadership role with broad authority, real scope, and high impact. What You’ll Do Run the Business Own the day-to-day operating performance of the companyTranslate company strategy into clear priorities, plans, and executionBuild and run the operating cadence: weekly exec rhythm, monthly metrics, quarterly planning/OKRsEnsure the company executes effectively across growth, delivery, and operational excellence Own Key Functions Customer Success: retention, expansion, operating rigor, tooling, and team scalingCustomer Support: quality, efficiency, cost discipline, and customer experienceFinance: FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, metrics, and board readinessCommercial execution: GTM operations, forecasting, pipeline rigor, and performance managementPartner closely with Product, Engineering, and Design to ensure strong delivery execution (while the CEO owns product strategy and vision) Scale the Company Drive org design, headcount planning, and performance managementInstall systems, processes, and accountability that scale without killing velocityIncrease focus, throughput, and cross-functional alignmentReduce founder dependency and execution bottlenecks across the organization Build a World-Class Operating Company Prepare the business for strategic partnerships, M&A diligence, and external scrutinyElevate the company’s operating maturity, predictability, and credibilityBe a strong internal leader and a trusted partner to the CEO and leadership team What Success Looks Like The company operates on a clear, predictable cadence with strong accountabilityExecution is no longer dependent on the CEO’s direct involvementForecasts and metrics are tight, visible, and trustedCustomer Success, Support, Finance, and Commercial functions operate with high rigor and efficiencyThe company feels “professionally run” to employees, partners, and external stakeholdersOrigin scales faster and with less organizational friction Who You Are A seasoned operator who has run multi-function organizations (GTM, CS, Finance, Product/Eng execution)Former COO, GM, SVP Ops, or equivalent senior leader with real business or P&L ownership experienceYou’ve helped scale a company through meaningful growth and increasing organizational complexityYou’re comfortable owning execution, driving accountability, and making hard tradeoffsYou have strong business and financial judgmentYou’ve worked with boards, investors, and/or M&A processes beforeYou are a confident, low-ego leader who can be a true counterweight and partner to the CEOYou thrive in environments with ambition, complexity, and high standards Bonus points for: Fintech, consumer subscription, or marketplace experienceExperience in both product-led and GTM-driven organizationsPrior experience preparing a company for acquisition or major strategic scale Why This Role Is Special You’ll be the execution backbone of an AI-native fintech with category-defining ambitionYou’ll have real scope, real authority, and real impactYou’ll partner directly with the CEO on building a durable, high-performance companyYou’ll help shape both the company’s long-term scale and its strategic optionality Eligibility Requirements Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.Origin does not sponsor visas.
