Audit Manager

Job Summary The Audit Manager is responsible for managing audit engagements from planning through completion, ensuring high-quality service delivery, compliance with professional standards, and effective client relationships. This role leads engagement teams, reviews audit work, manages budgets and timelines, and serves as a primary point of contact for clients. Essential Functions • Plan, manage, and oversee audit engagements, including risk assessment and audit strategy • Review audit workpapers and financial statements for quality, accuracy, and compliance • Supervise, coach, and evaluate engagement team members • Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and resource allocation • Communicate audit findings, issues, and recommendations to clients and firm leadership • Support business development efforts and client relationship management Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field • Active CPA license • Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB standards (as applicable) • Demonstrated experience managing audit engagements and leading teams • Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office applications Preferred Qualifications • Experience with complex or multi-location audit engagements • Prior experience managing public company or regulated industry audits Physical & Cognitive Demands • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally • Ability to exercise professional judgment, analyze complex information, and manage competing priorities Work Environment Including Travel • On-Site • Travel to client locations as required • Moderate noise level typical of a professional office environment Who We Are At Mellott & Mellott, we combine the depth and sophistication of a leading advisory firm with the culture of a long-standing family business.
