Photonic Design Engineer at QuiX Quantum BV/GmbH   Netherland/Germany   Photonic Design Engineer QuiX Quantum is pioneering advancements in photonic quantum computing, a dynamic and rapidly evolving field. Since our founding in 2019, we have achieved world records in quantum photonic processing. As we continue to expand, we're excited to add a Photonic Design Engineer to our team. This flexible, hybrid position requires a minimum of one day in the office each week and offers work locations in Germany or the Netherlands. Key Responsibilities: Design and simulate photonic components using tools like Lumerical. Develop PIC layouts in IPKISS, GdsFactory, or similar. Support internal PDK development and maintenance. Automate and script simulations with Python or similar languages. Collaborate with team members using Git for code management. Integrate photonic designs into system architectures. Required Qualifications: MSc in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, or related; PhD preferred. 3+ years of photonics design experience, preferably in industry. Experince in Lumerical and PIC layout tools (eg. IPKISS, GdsFactory). Strong Python skills and experience with Git. Proficiency in English. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Lumerical API, PDK development, Silicon Nitride platforms, and quantum integrated photonics. Personal Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communicator and team player. Detail-oriented with a commitment to high quality.
