Radian is seeking a pragmatic, business-minded Commercial Counsel to support the company’s commercial growth through efficient and consistent contracting.
This role is focused on sales enablement. You will partner closely with Sales, Operations, and Product teams to draft, review, and negotiate NDAs, customer contracts, and related agreements. The goal is simple: help the business move quickly while maintaining clear and consistent risk standards.
You will work closely with U.S.-based leadership and engage outside counsel when needed. The role is hands-on and execution-oriented, with an emphasis on responsiveness, clarity, and consistency across a high volume of agreements.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Contracting and Sales Support
Draft, review, and negotiate NDAs, MSAs, Statements of Work, vendor agreements, and software or SaaS licensing agreementsServe as a primary legal partner to Sales and Operations teams, supporting efficient deal execution while maintaining appropriate risk disciplineProvide clear, practical guidance to internal stakeholders on contract terms, risk, and structureTurn contracts quickly and consistently, with a focus on responsiveness and deal momentum
Templates, Playbooks, and Process
Maintain and improve contract templates, standard terms, and fallback positionsContribute to playbooks, clause libraries, and negotiation guidelinesIdentify opportunities to simplify and streamline contracting workflows and reduce cycle timesUse available tools, including AI where appropriate, to improve efficiency and consistency in contract review and execution
Outside Counsel and Coordination
Coordinate with U.S.-based leadership and outside counsel on more complex mattersHelp ensure outside counsel is used efficiently and aligned with business priorities
General Legal Support
Support contract interpretation, issue resolution, and general commercial risk managementAssist with employment, corporate, and compliance-related matters as neededSupport internal teams with customer diligence requests and contractual obligations
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and active U.S. bar membership in good standingApproximately 3 to 6 years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house roleStrong experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including MSAs, NDAs, and SaaS or services contractsExperience working with U.S.-based companies or cross-border teams preferredExperience in energy, infrastructure, or renewable energy is a plusDemonstrated ability to use AI tools or other technology to improve efficiency in legal workflows preferredAbility to balance legal risk with business objectives in a practical wayStrong communication, organization, and prioritization skills
