POSITION OVERVIEW: The Project Engineer - Data Center Construction will play a critical role supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale, mission-critical data center projects. This individual will work cross-functionally with design, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment between design intent, field execution, and commissioning requirements. This role requires a strong technical foundation across MEP systems, construction coordination, and project delivery, with a focus on maintaining schedule, quality, and cost objectives across complex hyperscale developments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Support end-to-end project execution from preconstruction through commissioning and turnoverCoordinate with internal engineering teams to ensure design intent is accurately translated into field executionAssist in managing construction schedules, tracking milestones, and identifying risks to delivery timelinesReview construction documents, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings for technical accuracy and constructabilityPartner with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to drive alignment on scope, sequencing, and execution strategyMonitor field progress and support issue resolution related to mechanical, electrical, and structural systemsAssist in tracking project costs, change orders, and procurement activities to ensure budget adherenceSupport commissioning activities, including system validation, testing protocols, and turnover documentationEnsure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelinesContribute to continuous improvement initiatives across construction processes, execution strategies, and delivery models REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field)3–8+ years of experience in construction, engineering, or project delivery (data center, mission-critical, or large-scale infrastructure preferred)Strong understanding of MEP systems, including power distribution, cooling systems, and critical infrastructureExperience supporting large-scale construction projects in a fast-paced environmentFamiliarity with construction documentation, RFIs, submittals, and scheduling toolsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyExcellent communication skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with hyperscale data center projects or mission-critical facilitiesExposure to commissioning processes and startup of critical systemsKnowledge of industry standards (ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, NFPA, etc.)Experience working with general contractors and EPC firmsProficiency in project management and construction tools (Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, etc.) WORK ENVIRONMENT: This role is based on-site at active construction projectsCandidates must be willing to work in a field-driven environment and be present on-site as requiredTravel or relocation may be required depending on project location Expected Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 Base Salary + Discretionary Bonus   Fleet Data Centers Employment Fleet Data Centers employees enjoy competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits, including 100% employer-covered medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K program, standard paid holidays, and unlimited PTO.    NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
