About this role

About Nimble http://nimble.ai/ is an AI robotics company building the autonomous supply chain to power fast, efficient and economical commerce. We’re training robot AGI to power a proprietary generalist supply chain superhumanoid, the first robot in the world capable of performing thousands of tasks across the supply chain. We’ve raised over $220M at over $1B valuation and formed a strategic alliance with FedEx to build a national network of autonomous warehouses capable of generating many billions in annual revenue. We are a hardcore and obsessed team of the world’s best engineers and operators. If you are obsessed with your craft, enjoy a high-intensity and fast moving high impact environment, are super high agency in getting hard things done and want to be part of building the world’s most legendary robotics company at the most pivotal moment in history, we want to work with you. We are on a mission to empower and inspire mankind to accomplish legendary feats by inventing robots that liberate us from the menial. We will accomplish this by training robot AGI to invent and build the Autonomous Supply Chain – everything from the inside of factories and warehouses to your front door – powered by generalist superhumanoids. Our founding team comes from the AI labs at Stanford and Carnegie Mellon and our board of directors include famed robotics and AI legends including https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fei-Fei_Li (Chief Scientist of AI at Google and Director of Stanford’s AI Lab), https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc_Raibert (founder of Boston Dynamics), and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sebastian_Thrun (founder of GoogleX, Waymo; Stanford Professor and considered the father of autonomous vehicles). Let’s be legendary. Be dependable - Take ownership and deliver with high agency.   The Role: We are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on Senior Systems Integration and Test Engineer to take ownership of the electrical systems across our robot fleets. In this critical role, you will be the connective tissue between Hardware, Software, Operations, Manufacturing, Product, and Field Service. You will lead the charge in defining, testing, and debugging the complex electromechanical and software interactions that make our robots work reliably in the real world. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love diving deep into schematics and logs to find the root cause of an issue, and have the program management skills to drive solutions to completion, we want you on our team. What You Will Do: Electrical Systems Ownership: Serve as the primary owner and subject matter expert for the robot’s electrical and mechatronic systems during integration, testing, and deployment. Debug & Triage: Lead complex, system-level debugging and triage of electromechanical and software interaction issues. Dive into sensor data, software logs, and hardware performance metrics to isolate bottlenecks and bugs. Failure Analysis & Field Investigations: Lead deep-dive field investigations for deployed systems. Perform rigorous root cause and failure analysis (FA) on electrical components, harnesses, and PCBAs, translating findings into actionable engineering improvements. Test Design & Execution: Design, develop, and execute comprehensive hardware, software, and system-level integration tests. Build test fixtures, develop automated test scripts, and validate systems under edge-case conditions. Specs & Requirements: Translate high-level product needs into detailed system requirements and engineering specifications for the electrical and integration domains. Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the central technical hub, collaborating closely with Hardware, Software, Operations, Service, Manufacturing, and Product teams. Ensure seamless handoffs from prototype to high-volume manufacturing and field deployment. Program Management & Driving Actions: Manage integration and testing timelines. Track outstanding issues, drive cross-functional action items to closure, and hold stakeholders accountable to ensure project milestones are met on schedule. What You Bring: Education: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Robotics, or a related field. Experience: 5+ years of industry experience in systems integration, test engineering, or a related role within robotics, automotive, aerospace, or complex electromechanical products. Electrical Expertise: Deep understanding of electrical fundamentals, power distribution, motor controllers, sensors, and PCBA troubleshooting. Hands-on proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers). Hardware/Software Integration: Proven ability to troubleshoot at the boundary of hardware and software. Familiarity with communication protocols (CAN, EtherCAT, Ethernet, RS-485, I2C, SPI). Testing & Automation: Strong experience designing test plans and writing automation scripts (Python strongly preferred) to execute system-level validation. Program Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects, track bugs (e.g., Jira), and drive interdisciplinary teams toward resolution. Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex technical failure analyses to both engineering peers and leadership. Bonus Points: Experience in the logistics, supply chain, or warehouse automation industry. Previous experience transitioning complex hardware products from NPI (New Product Introduction) into high-volume manufacturing. Familiarity with functional safety standards and reliability testing (HALT/HASS). Compensation $160,000 - $190,000/year  The above range is the salary range. This position will also receive generous equity for this position!   Culture: We embrace challenges and strive to make the impossible possible each day.
