Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Supplier Quality Engineer to oversee supplier quality assurance activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all supplied materials and components meet our organization’s quality standards, while fostering strong relationships with suppliers.
What You'll Do...
Develop and implement supplier quality standards and processes specific to aerospace propulsion systemsEvaluate and approve suppliers through on-site audits and assessments, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as AS9100 and NadcapEstablish quality agreements with suppliers to define expectations, requirements, and key performance indicators (KPIs)Monitor supplier performance using metrics such as defect rates, on time delivery, and adherence to specificationsLead root cause analysis and corrective action processes to resolve supplier-related quality issuesWork with suppliers to implement preventive measures and continuous improvement initiativesOversee the qualification of propulsion components, including machined parts, raw materials and outside service providersSupport the New Product Introduction (NPI) process by ensuring supplier readiness and validating first article inspections (FAI)Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure supplier capabilities align with design and manufacturing requirementsEnsure supplier compliance with aerospace propulsion standards, such as AS9102 for FAI, Nadcap for special processes, and other relevant specificationsMaintain thorough documentation of supplier audits, quality reports, and corrective action plansSupport internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory inspectionsWork closely with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams to resolve supplier-related challengesProvide technical support and guidance to suppliers to enhance their processes and capabilities
You have...
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or materials engineering (or a related field)8+ years of experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably in the aerospace or propulsion industryStrong understanding of aerospace propulsion systems and componentsFamiliarity with quality standards such as AS9100, Nadcap, and AS9102Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, including root cause analysis, FMEA, and SPCAbility to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&TExcellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skillsThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issues security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Experience with special processes such as heat treatment, welding, and coatingsCertification in quality management (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt)Proficiency in quality management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Minitab)

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $100,000-$130,000 base salary. Please note that wage information is a general guideline only, and we will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market conditions when extending an offer.
