The Gallery Interpreter will provide 5 star customer service in the museum galleries by engaging with guests about the museum exhibits utilizing inquiry based interpretation techniques, interactives, and guided tours. Working in tandem with museum Security staff, the Gallery Interpreters provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all staff and guests by monitoring the museum galleries and encouraging guests to help protect our collection. They provide customer service support, are knowledgeable about museum content, and maintain daily gallery operations and appearance. Gallery Interpreters work in all galleries in the museum including the Forza Motorsports experience and the Vault. Duties/Responsibilities: Providing assistance to visitors and answering questions about the museum collection, museum events and programs, and other opportunities for the guest to engage with the museum such as membershipUtilizing interactive aids including activity materials, ipads, etc. to enhance the guest experienceProviding direction and guidance to visitors concerning other galleries, exhibits, and events Ensuring that objects and resources are handled carefully and safely Opportunities to work as a Gallery Interpreter at private after-hours events Required Skills/Abilities: ● Ability to interact with guests and visitors ● Ability to learn and retain knowledge pertaining to the museum collection, events, and programs ● Computer skills including Google Drive, Google Docs, email ● Canva (not required, but preferred) ● Ability to work Wednesday through Saturday Education and Experience: Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required: ○ 2 years of college experience preferred Minimum Experience required: ○ None Locations: Los Angeles, CA
