About this role
Senior Analytics Engineer
We are looking for a talented Senior Analytics Engineer to join our Data Mission, where you'll take technical ownership of how we model, transform, and activate data at scale. Using a cutting-edge tech stack including dbt, Databricks, and Kafka, you'll define the standards that the team works to and build the data products that power decisions for millions of users.
We are proud to say that our engineers at ClearScore are world class and at the heart of making this mission a reality for our millions of users. For more information on our tech stack check out our https://medium.com/@klausthorup/clearscore-technology-radar-2026-53ff556116e5, how we work is summarised in our https://medium.com/clearscore/clearscore-engineering-principles-14237efe4910 and we have many other https://medium.com/clearscore.
What you will be doing:
Taking technical ownership of large data initiatives, leading delivery end-to-end across multiple components, stakeholders, and delivery phases
Setting and upholding best practice standards for analytics engineering across our entire data model, from data modelling conventions and dbt patterns to testing, documentation, and observability, and ensuring these standards are understood and applied consistently
Leading data model design discussions and shaping architectural direction, including designing new schemas from the ground up with best practices and end-user utility in mind
Shaping how we use SQL, dbt, Databricks, and AI at scale — advising on complex or high-risk transformations and contributing to tooling and architectural direction
Bringing a system-level perspective on lineage, workflows, and observability, ensuring the organisation can reason clearly about data flows, dependencies, and accountability
Coaching and mentoring engineers across the team, building capability through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing
Collaborating with Platform and Data Science teams to define requirements for new data products and troubleshoot upstream data issues
Skills we'd love you to have:
You are an expert in SQL and dbt, and you apply this to design and build robust, scalable data transformations on platforms like Databricks
You have strong experience with data modelling concepts and frameworks (e.g. Kimball) and have led architectural design discussions
You can set and communicate engineering standards — you're the person others come to for guidance on how things should be built
You have experience diagnosing and resolving complex production issues, and you design pipelines with testing, monitoring, and maintainability in mind
You have a system-level view of data: you think about lineage, dependencies, and how changes ripple through a platform
You bring others along with you — through mentoring, documentation, and clear technical communication with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
You have experience with orchestration tooling (e.g. Databricks Workflows) and understand how data products are operationalised end-to-end
Familiarity with data activation tools (e.g. Hightouch) or streaming platforms (e.g. Kafka) is a bonus
