Maintenance Technician - HVAC/Appliance Repair/General Maintenance

JSM Living is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. We manage a diverse portfolio of residential apartments and commercial properties throughout the Champaign-Urbana area, and we are looking for individuals with experience in HVAC service, appliance repair, property maintenance, or skilled trades work. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting problems, working hands-on, and taking pride in delivering quality service to residents and tenants. We are especially interested in candidates with HVAC, refrigeration, appliance repair, electrical, or mechanical experience who are looking for a stable, full-time position with strong benefits and consistent hours. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial maintenance issuesService and repair HVAC systems, appliances, plumbing fixtures, and electrical componentsPerform appliance repairs, including refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, washers, and dryersComplete preventive maintenance and property inspectionsRespond to maintenance work orders efficiently and professionallyRepair plumbing leaks, door hardware, lighting fixtures, drains, and other building systemsReplace HVAC filters and assist with seasonal HVAC maintenanceAccurately document labor, materials, and completed work using electronic systemsMaintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in clean working orderParticipate in an on-call rotation and occasional overtime as needed What We're Looking For Minimum 2 years of experience in maintenance, HVAC, appliance repair, mechanical work, or related skilled tradesHVAC certification, EPA certification, appliance repair experience, or trade school experience preferredStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic skillsReliable attendance and strong work ethicAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesProfessional communication with residents, coworkers, and vendorsValid driver’s license requiredAbility to lift equipment and work in indoor/outdoor environments Compensation & Benefits Hourly starting rate - $23-$34 per hourComprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and life insurancePaid time off and holidaysPaid day off for your birthday401(k) with company matchPaid weeklyStable, year-round full-time work The starting hourly range for this position reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of this posting.
