Location: Remote (Central European Timezone ±2 hours) Start date: Immediate Languages: English (fluent) Industry: International Organizations, Enterprise IT Infrastructure, Storage & Backup About the Company Pragmatike is recruiting an Enterprise Storage & Backup Administrator on behalf of a prestigious international organization operating at a global scale. This organization manages critical infrastructure supporting worldwide initiatives, with a strong commitment to sustainability, diversity, and operational excellence. Their IT ecosystem spans complex, heterogeneous environments, delivering highly reliable storage and backup services across multiple regions and stakeholders. Your Responsibilities • Administer the ICC’s Storage and Backup Infrastructures’ Systems • Provide technical support for the ICC storage and backup infrastructures’ users (Connectivity, performance, troubleshooting, storage, backups, etc.) • Manage the backup clients, schedules and retentions • Monitor and evaluate the performance of storage and backup services • Coordinate the replacement of failed Backup, Storage & SAN components, and service restoration • Create and maintain detailed technical and graphical documentation as needed • Develop/update tools and scripts to improve and automate the administration of the Storage and Enterprise Backup operations • Lead complex projects involving storage solutions and products for mid-large environments • Provide on-call rotation-based support outside of business hours • Perform other duties as required What You Bring The consultant must demonstrate proven hands-on experience in enterprise storage and backup administration across heterogeneous environments, specifically including: Enterprise Storage Platforms - Demonstrable administration and troubleshooting experience with multi-vendor enterprise storage arrays, with emphasis on: - NetApp ONTAP environments (FAS, vNAS/file/object services, SolidFire) - Dell PowerStore or equivalent block storage platforms - CEPH - Experience performing provisioning, performance troubleshooting, lifecycle maintenance, and incident resolution in production environments SAN & Storage Transport Technologies - Strong working knowledge of storage networking concepts and technologies - Hands-on administration of Cisco MDS Fiber Channel fabrics - Ability to troubleshoot end-to-end connectivity issues between hosts and storage Replication & Host Integration - Solid technical understanding of: - Storage replication and data protection technologies - Host integration and best practices - OS-specific storage tuning and performance considerations Backup & Data Protection Platforms - Extensive experience installing, configuring, and administering enterprise backup platforms, including Dell EMC Avamar and Dell EMC Data Domain and Veeam backup and replication. - Experience managing policies, retention, client onboarding, and recovery workflows - Working familiarity with disk-based and tape-based backup architectures Networking Fundamentals - Practical understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals relevant to storage operations, including Ethernet switching concepts, TCP/IP stack behavior, Routing basics and Link aggregation (LACP) Nice to Have - Hands-on experience developing scripts or automation workflows using PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ansible or similar automation frameworks - Experience with Microsoft 365 backup solutions such as AvePoint and Spanning - Exposure to Software Defined Storage (SDS) platforms - Working knowledge of Linux administration and Microsoft Windows Server environments - Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware Why This Role Will Pivot Your Career • You’ll operate infrastructure that actually matters — at global scale • You’ll work on complex, non-trivial systems (not just maintain them) • You’ll gain exposure across storage, backup, networking, and reliability • You’ll have room to automate, improve, and influence how things are built • Strong potential for long-term engagement Pragmatike is dedicated to a fair, transparent, and inclusive recruitment process.
