About the role
We're looking for a Tax Prep Intern to join our team in a full-time, career-track capacity. This isn't a traditional internship — it's a specialized role for high-potential accounting students (Bachelor's or Master's) or recent grads who want to launch a career at the intersection of tax and AI. You'll work alongside our full-time tax team doing real preparation work while getting hands-on exposure to the automation tools reshaping how tax gets done. Strong performance can lead to a salaried Tax Prep position upon degree completion and progress toward CPA licensure.
What you'll do
Tax Preparation: Prepare federal and state tax returns across a variety of entity types, including 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120S, 1120, and 990.Document Review: Organize and review client tax documents for accuracy and completeness; identify and resolve discrepancies before they reach the preparer.Data & Workpapers: Assist with data cleanup and workpaper preparation using Excel.AI & Automation: Learn and actively use our automation tools to support compliance workflows and reduce manual entry — this is core to how we operate, not an afterthought.Team Support: Keep client data organized and filing-ready so the senior team can move fast.
Qualifications
Education: Currently enrolled in (or recently graduated from) a Bachelor's or Master's program in AccountingCPA Track: Clear intent to sit for the CPA exam and obtain licensureTech-Savvy: Comfortable learning new software quickly; proficient in Excel and Adobe AcrobatDetail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail with consistent follow-through on recurring tasksAvailability: Full-time availability Monday–Friday during standard business hours; no competing job or academic commitments during working hoursBonus: Familiarity with QuickBooks Online (QBO) or professional tax software such as CCH Axcess
