Overview:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field. Minimum 3+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Requirements Engineering, or Automotive Infotainment development.
This position is focused on the development, definition, and management of In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) system requirements and feature integration activities across multiple vehicle programs.
The engineer will be responsible for owning and developing feature requirements, defining interfaces between ECUs and software components, and supporting integration activities across IVI domains including infotainment modules, displays, telematics, gateways, and connectivity systems.
The role requires strong communication skills, systems thinking, and the ability to collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams within a fast-paced automotive environment.
The engineer will work closely with architects, software teams, HMI teams, validation teams, and program stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly defined, traceable, and aligned with vehicle-level system behavior.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Engineering & Feature Ownership
Own and develop IVI feature requirements from concept through implementation
Write clear, structured, and testable system requirements from scratch
Perform functional decomposition and requirement allocation across ECUs and software components
Manage requirement traceability, change management, and impact analysis activities
Support requirement reviews and alignment across engineering teams
IVI Systems & Interface Definition
Define interfaces and communication flows between IVI ECUs and connected systems
Support system integration activities across infotainment, telematics, displays, gateways, and connectivity modules
Understand and analyze vehicle network communication including CAN, LIN, and Ethernet
Collaborate with architecture teams to support feature integration strategies
Support API/interface definition activities for system interactions
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with software, validation, HMI, architecture, and vehicle integration teams
Coordinate working sessions with stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve gaps
Support issue investigation and system-level problem resolution activities
Communicate technical topics and project updates clearly to internal teams
Systems Analysis & Validation Support
Perform impact analysis when requirements or interfaces change
Support compatibility analysis across vehicle programs and architectures
Assist validation and integration teams during feature verification activities
Participate in root cause analysis and issue triage discussions
Agile Development & Documentation
Work within Agile development environments including Scrum and Kanban
Maintain technical documentation related to requirements and interfaces
Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and requirement prioritization activities
Ensure proper documentation and tracking of engineering changes
Profile:
Systems Engineer with strong requirements engineering and IVI domain knowledge
Comfortable working across multiple ECUs, interfaces, and cross-functional teams
Strong communication and coordination skills
Structured, proactive, and detail-oriented mindset
Able to understand system impacts and dependencies when requirements evolve
Must Have:
3+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or Requirements Engineering
Experience writing system or software requirements from scratch
Experience within Automotive Infotainment (IVI) or IoT/Connected Systems environments
Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet
Experience with requirement management tools such as JAMA, DOORS, Polarion, or equivalent
Understanding of ECU interactions and system integration concepts
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience working in Agile environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good to Have:
Experience with JAMA requirement management tool
Knowledge of SysML/UML and modeling tools
Experience with automotive infotainment ecosystems
Exposure to API/interface definition activities
Knowledge of SOME/IP or service-oriented architectures
Experience with Jira and Confluence
Exposure to Automotive SPICE or functional safety environments
