TOOLS & CONTEXT
Experts in this role may work with, review, or help AI systems reason about the same tools and artifacts used by modern accounting teams, including:
- ERP and accounting systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, and Xero
- Close and reconciliation tools such as BlackLine and FloQast
- Reporting and filing tools such as Workiva, ActiveDisclosure, and XBRL tagging platforms

- Workpapers, reconciliations, trial balances, audit schedules, financial statements, tax filings, board materials, management reports, and regulatory filings
A key part of the role is helping define what “good accounting judgment” looks like in practice. This includes how transactions should be classified, how estimates should be evaluated, how reconciliations should be reviewed, how exceptions should be handled, and how accounting conclusions should be explained clearly.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Review accounting work for accuracy, completeness, and sound judgment
- Create or evaluate realistic accounting tasks, scenarios, and workflows
- Identify errors in journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, schedules, tax analyses, or accounting explanations
- Explain accounting decisions, tradeoffs, assumptions, and risks in clear language
- Help define high-quality outputs for accounting-specific AI agents
- Contribute examples of real-world accounting workflows, edge cases, and professional judgment calls
- Collaborate with technical and domain teams to improve AI performance in accounting contexts
YOU MAY BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU
- Have meaningful professional experience in one or more accounting subdomains listed above
- Have 3–8+ years of experience in accounting, audit, tax, financial reporting, controllership, FP&A, finance operations, or related roles
- Have worked with real accounting systems, workpapers, reconciliations, financial statements, audits, tax filings, or reporting processes
- Are comfortable reasoning through complex transactions, estimates, controls, compliance requirements, or reporting decisions
- Can explain not only what the correct answer is, but why it is correct
- Can distinguish between theoretical accounting rules and practical accounting execution
- Enjoy flexible, contract-based work
- Are motivated by rigor, accuracy, judgment, and building useful AI systems for professional workflows
Nice to Haves:
- Hold a CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA, CIA, EA, or equivalent credential, preferred but not required
