Our Asia Tax department is looking for a Senior Tax Analyst based in Singapore office covering SEA region. General responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
In charge for the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and yearly filings across SEA Legal entities, by leverage AI/Technology to achieve the efficiency and improve the current process
Instrumental in refining and enforcing tax controls and procedures in connection with the APAC region, as well as promoting excellence in a service oriented and team environment.
In this role the Senior Tax Analyst will report directly to the APAC Head of Tax (Tax Director), required to have comprehensive knowledge of tax and regulatory matters, as well as strong judgement in order to carefully evaluate complex situation and navigate the challenges when advise the business and key stakeholders, and to ensure compliance with regulations changes/update across all the countries this region
Key Responsibilities:
In charge of the tax compliance process in relation to both direct tax (WHT& Income tax instalment) as well as indirect tax return including (VAT/GST/Digital service tax) in SEA (SG/MY/PH/IND/TH)
In charge of the annual Income tax filing for SEA countries mainly from (but not limited to) Singapore/MY/PH/TH/IND
Work closely with AP team and Treasury team to ensure all tax filings and payments are made in a timely manner
Perform annual Health Check on all periodic tax returns by utilising applicable tools (AI/Technology) to identify the weakness and improve the internal control process
In charge of Year End Tax Provision Process under US GAAP, and reconcile the tax related account from Local GAAP to US GAAP for all legal entities in SEA
Actively involved in coordinating tax audit and prepare all relevant supporting documentation for audit defence purpose in SEA
Work closely with key stakeholders of SEA (Legal, Accounting, Treasury & Stra Fin) on contract review process, and to be able to advise the Deal Owners how to achieve tax optimization on cross border transaction during contract negotiation stage
Proactively monitor digital tax update in major SEA countries (i.e. Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines), update the risk assessment and improve the current process by leverage AI/Technology to achieve automation and efficiency
Be actively involved in other ad hoc advisory in SEA region, such as working closely with accounting team on EDB audit upon request
Assist the APAC tax team with any additional adhoc projects as needed
Assist Global tax team with any ad hoc reports and projects as needed
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or graduate degree in taxation
Qualified CPA
Over 8 years of relevant tax experience with a key focus on tax compliances in SEA region (both big 4 practice as well as in house tax experience)
Good understanding of tax concepts and hands on experiences managing tax compliances in SEA region
Experience with digital services/platform organizations cash or tax basis of reporting is highly desirable
Detail and service oriented
A self-starter and team player with the ability to effectively communicate and execute
Have can do attitude with strong ownership and responsibilities
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills and business acumen
Fluent in Mandarin and other local languages of SEA is a plus
