Transportation Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Daniels Health conducts background checks and drug testing as part of the post‑offer hiring process. country: US all locations: [Hayward, CA] commitment: department: USA location: Hayward, CA team: Operations - Management What you will do: Provide daily pre-departure support including truck loading, manifest checks, transporter quality checks, and weekly tailgate safety meetings Monitor and support driver routing to maximize productivity and address any route-related issues Maintain strong communication between plant operations, sales, and field service teams Conduct daily route debriefs to resolve service issues and improve customer satisfaction Manage driver performance, conduct evaluations, and support ongoing development Coordinate vehicle maintenance and resolve equipment issues to ensure optimal performance Ensure driver compliance with safety regulations and perform quality checks on all loaded/unloaded products Control operational costs by managing headcount, limiting overtime, and optimizing driver performance Must be able to drive box trucks and cover routes as needed to maintain service continuity What we are looking for : Must Have 3+ years in a management or supervisory role Clean 10-year DMV record (dated within the last 30 days) Valid DOT medical certificate (or ability to obtain one) Knowledge of DOT regulations, log books, and safe cargo handling practice Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with the public Ability to work weekends, holidays, or flex hours based on operational needs Must be able to reliably commute to our Hayward Plant     Nice to Have 24+ months of verifiable commercial driving experience, including recently having run a route CDL Experience driving in healthcare, food & beverage, or retail industries Experience with routing and dispatch software (e.g., Samsara, Omnitracs, or similar systems) highly preferred Why work for us : Essential and stable industry – As a critical partner to healthcare, Daniels Health offers year-round job security in a recession-resistant field Mission-driven work – Make a meaningful impact by supporting safer, more sustainable medical waste management Strong safety culture – We prioritize your well-being with enhanced PPE protocols and a commitment to workplace safety Growth opportunities – Be part of a company that invests in its people and promotes from within Comprehensive benefits – Enjoy medical, dental, and vision coverage starting on Day One, plus additional wellness and insurance options Supportive team environment – Join a collaborative, values-driven culture where your contributions are recognized and respected
