Job Description  We are seeking a mid-level Data Platform Engineer to join our data platform team. You’ll help build and operate the infrastructure, tooling, and code that make data accessible, reliable, and scalable across our organization. As an important part of our growing team, you will contribute to our technology choices, architecture, and the capabilities of our platform, while continuing to scale Nearpod and Renaissance Intelligence. You’ll work closely with product managers and peer engineers to develop innovative solutions that enable great classroom learning experiences.  In this role as a Data Platform Engineer, you will: Craft fault-tolerant data pipelines and distributed systems to support millions of students.  Effective communicator who collaborates well with distributed engineering, product, and design teams; experience explaining data architecture to both technical and non-technical audiences.  Ensure that timely, accurate data and metrics are delivered consistently.  Partner with your peer engineers and product owners on getting features and products to market.  Evolve data ownership and fluency across our teams, allowing us to bring new insights to customers easily and cost-effectively.   For this role as a Data Platform Engineer, you should have: Significant professional experience in ETL / ELT using cloud-based databases at scale, such as MySQL, Postgres, BigQuery, Redshift, and/or Snowflake  Experience designing, coding, and supporting enterprise-scale ETL / ELT pipelines that balance efficiency and intuitive usage.  Experience architecting, building, and maintaining data warehouses, data lakes, and data meshes that are organized, performant, and easy to use.  Experience mentoring fellow team members and demonstrating how to stay proficient with new technologies, methodologies, and frameworks.   Preferred: Understanding K-12 education data  Experience with the tools we use, like AWS (including S3, Glue, and Lambda), Airflow, Redshift, Data Build Tool (DBT), Snowflake, and Docker - plus experience with tools we don’t use, but should, and the wisdom to know when to recommend them  Enjoy working in a 100% remote environment - we have engineers across the US, as well as remote teams in Latin America.    Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. #LI-Remote     The below compensation range is based on national market data and may vary by experience and location.  Salary Range$99,500—$136,800 USD Benefits for eligible US employees include: World Class Health Benefits: Medical, Prescription, Dental, Vision, Telehealth Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts 401(k) and Roth 401(k) with company match Paid Vacation and Sick Time Off 12 Paid Holidays Parental Leave (20 total weeks with 14 weeks paid) & Milk Stork program Tuition Reimbursement Life & Disability Insurance Well-being and Employee Assistance Programs Benefits listed apply to eligible U.S. employees in accordance with Renaissance’s benefits eligibility criteria.
