The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, supplier management, inventory control, and logistics. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services to support production and program execution.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in purchasing and supplier negotiations, along with a solid understanding of aerospace and defense environments, including compliance with FAR/DFARS and government contracting requirements. This position partners closely with Engineering, Operations, and Program Management to drive performance, mitigate risk, and support organizational growth.
Essential Job Functions:
Lead procurement activities, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and servicesDevelop and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and cost objectives are metEvaluate supplier performance using key metrics (OTD, quality, cost) and drive continuous improvementIdentify and qualify new suppliers to support program requirements and risk mitigation strategiesNegotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and terms in alignment with company policiesOversee material planning, inventory management, and demand forecasting to support production schedulesEnsure timely procurement and delivery of materials to meet program milestones and customer requirementsMonitor and manage inventory levels, excess/obsolete materials, and cost optimization initiativesCoordinate with Operations and Production teams to align supply chain activities with manufacturing needsEnsure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other applicable government contracting regulationsMaintain procurement documentation and support audits (internal, customer, and regulatory such as DCAA)Identify supply chain risks (supplier, geopolitical, material shortages) and implement mitigation strategiesEnsure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and ethical sourcing practicesPartner with Engineering, Quality, and Program Management to support new product development and production readinessSupport proposal efforts by providing cost estimates, supplier inputs, and lead time analysisParticipate in make vs. buy decisions and strategic sourcing initiativesDrive process improvements across procurement and supply chain functionsDevelop and implement best practices, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and visibilityMentor and support buyers or junior supply chain staff (if applicable)Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related fieldMinimum 5+ years of supply chain, procurement, or purchasing experiencePrior experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer strongly preferredExperience working in a manufacturing environmentWorking knowledge of FAR/DFARS and government contracting requirementsStrong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skillsProficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Costpoint, SAP, Oracle, or similar)Advanced Excel skills and data analysis capabilitiesStrong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyMust be a U.S citizen.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated industriesFamiliarity with DCAA compliance and audit requirementsExperience supporting DoD programs or government contractsCPSM, CPIM, or related supply chain certificationExperience with supplier development and strategic sourcing initiatives
