RESPONSIBILITIES
Culture and Engagement
Serve as the cultural connective tissue of the organization — bridging the gap between stated values and lived experience, building intentional culture for a hybrid team
Design and drive programming, moments, and rhythms that foster genuine cross-functional connection, not just project-based interaction
Track engagement signals and act on them before they become retention risks
Performance Management
Build a performance management process that is simple enough to use consistently and meaningful enough to actually drive growth.
Establish clarity around performance conversations — what they're for, how they're structured, and how they connect to compensation and growth decisions
Coach managers through difficult conversations and performance concerns; develop their capability, not just their compliance
Transform the review cycle from an administrative obligation into a meaningful development tool
Talent and Recruiting
Own full-cycle recruiting for an attrition-driven hiring plan, coordinating contract recruiters as volume requires
Maintain a high bar on candidate quality and fit while moving with the speed the business demands
Build and protect a candidate experience that accurately reflects who TextUs is
HR Operations
Run day-to-day HR operations across benefits, compliance, employee relations, onboarding, and offboarding with efficiency and accuracy
Identify and implement automation and workflow improvements that reduce manual lift and increase consistency
Support executive and operational coordination needs — board logistics, travel, events — with discretion and reliability
Own HRIS data integrity and produce reporting that informs people decisions
Thought Leadership and Strategic Partnership
Bring the people perspective to leadership proactively — surface risks, flag patterns, and offer recommendations before they're asked for
Come prepared with a point of view and options: assess the situation, frame the choices, and make a clear recommendation
Balance a fast-moving, execution-focused leadership team with a steady, longer-view perspective on people and culture
Build credibility as a trusted internal resource on retention, team health, and people operations as the company grows
WHO YOU ARE
6+ years HR experience (3+ in standalone/generalist/people ops at similar company size/stage) with a background in high-growth SaaS or tech
Proven ability to own full employee lifecycle (onboarding → offboarding) and end-to-end people experience
Fluent in ADP or comparable HRIS; experienced improving and automating HR processes
Equally effective as a strategic executive thought partner and hands-on HR administrator
Full-cycle recruiting, independent or coordinating with contract recruiters as needed
Strong critical thinker who identifies problems and recommends solutions proactively
Handles sensitive/confidential matters with discretion; knows when to act, escalate, or listen
Navigates hard conversations (performance, exits, org change) with directness and empathy; coaches managers to do the same
Track record of intentionally building culture for hybrid/distributed teams
Highly self-directed; owns the function, sets priorities, drives work independently
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
Denver-based, with the ability to come into the office as needed; in-person expectations may increase as the team and office footprint grow
