About the Role
This is a position for a self-driven Paralegal professional. You won’t just support cases; you will be key in determining the strongest defense strategy for each client, predominantly for, I-589 and EOIR 42-B cases, leveraging your immigration court experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Technical Ownership: 2 or more years of immigration experience, including I-589 and 42-B applications. You are prepared to deliver on day 1.
Autonomy: Act as a subject matter expert. You identify risks, propose solutions to procedural hurdles, and manage escalations independently.

Position Purpose
The Paralegal role involves working closely with legal support staff and attorneys to prepare immigration court case strategies and respond to immigration judges’ orders. Paralegals are trained to handle a wide range of immigration inquiries and tasks before escalating matters to attorneys.
Your Key Contributions
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
Learn requirements and be familiar with processes for I–589, EOIR 42-B, and other case typesReview intake, interview, and initial research notes to develop legal strategies for attorney reviewReview and adjust case flow in response to immigration judges’ ordersConduct thorough reviews of full court case files prior to preparing clients for court appearances, ensuring they understand their case and what to expectRespond to client concerns and case escalations by identifying solutions or next stepsClearly and respectfully communicate legal information to clients based on attorney guidanceAssist in developing and refining internal workflows, scripts, and training materials to improve consistency and efficiency across the Court teamPartner with other operations teams to provide strategic insight and additional thoughts on the case processUpon request and where appropriate, help to handle overflow attorney tasks

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements (Essential Skills, Knowledge & Abilities)
Possesses excellent English and Spanish, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent communication and organizational skillsHigh School diploma or equivalent experience5+ years of court filing experience, with a minimum of 3 years in immigration court filingsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software including Dropbox, SharePoint or CRMAttention to detail and excellent organizational skillsAbility to solve problems independently or with the support of leadershipAbility to work as a team in a collaborative mannerAbility to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Work Schedule
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST
