About this role
A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is seeking a Civil Engineering Project Manager with 6-12 years of experience for a position in our Rockville, MD office. Working in one of AMT’s regional offices such as Towson, MD or Herndon, VA will be considered on a case-by-case basis. AMT will provide the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home 1 to 2 days per week, as agreed upon with the Site and Infrastructure Group Leader. The ideal candidate is desired to work in the office on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities: Leading multi-discipline teams to deliver quality land development and civil engineering design projects
Serving as liaison between client and project team including external stakeholder agencies
Managing all technical resources on the project team including subconsultants
Preparing task proposals and establish project pricing and budgets
Developing project management plans for assigned projects and preparing monthly progress reports
Developing and maintaining project schedules
Leading or participating in client meetings and presentations
Providing quality control reviews of submittals and deliverables
Mentoring and training junior staff
Assisting with production tasks (CADD drawings, reports, graphics / renderings, etc.)
Assisting Group Leader and Division Directors with business development and proposals
Maintaining a positive working relationships with co-workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members
Qualifications: Professional Engineer (PE) in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington DC Required
6 to 12 years experience in the planning and civil engineering design of commercial, institutional, federal, military, and public site development projects
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Ability to prepare plans, specifications and cost estimates
Proficiency with industry standard software such as StormCAD, HyroCAD, Hydroflow, FlowMaster, and others
Highly skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and BlueBeam
Ability to assist with the preparation of engineering studies and reports
Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D
Strong written and oral communication skills
