Title:                     Lead Youth Development Professional (YDP) Reports to:           Club Director Salary Range:     $16-$17 - DOE Hours:                   Every day Monday-Friday, 30 hours/week (potential for 40 hours during summer) JOB SUMMARY: Youth Development Professionals (YDP) facilitate fun, engaging, and age-appropriate activities for youth and teens from diverse backgrounds. Using our three priority outcomes­—academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles—as a guide, Youth Development Professionals run programs, offer support, and ensure that every Club Member has an Optimal Club Experience that sets them up for lifelong success.   Successful YDPs have a passion for serving others and contributing to the well-being of the community at large. Youth Development Professionals have the ability to connect with young people and offer supportive relationships. They are team players willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that Club Members are safe, recognized, and given the opportunity to learn new skills.   The Lead YDP takes on more responsibility, working under the Club Director and with the Program director to meet the needs of the youth, staff, and program.  The Perks! PTO Accrual and Paid HolidaysMedical and other Insurance Benefits, 401(k)Professional development: mentorship with industry leaders, organization-wide training, and professional development scholarships Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities): Plan and implement daily group activities with youth ages 5-12, or 13-18 Transport youth in Club vehicles (school pick-ups, fieldtrips, etc.)Ensure engagement and promote consistent attendance of youth enrolled in activitiesEstablish rapport with youth and provide mentoring, guidance, and role modeling to support their leadership development, artistic skills, physical activity engagement, and academic progressProvide active supervision, continually interacting with all membersSubmit regular lesson plans, attendance sheets, and other paperwork responsibilitiesPlan special events, such as guest speakers, performances, or field tripsAbide by and carry out safety policies and proceduresAttend local trainings   Needed Knowledge: Willingness to learn and implement Trauma-Informed Practices to create an environment of safety, awareness, trust, and empathy with youth and fellow staff membersSocial-emotional competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-makingAbility to work in high-energy, loud, and active settings with large groups of youth and teensAbility to prioritize tasks and accomplish them in a detailed, timely mannerExcellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with Club Members, peers, parents, community leaders, etc.Self-motivated, and comfortable with both independent and collaborative processesStrong group management skills   Requirements: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalentMust be able to pass a criminal background check, MVR check, and drug screening.21 years and over (to meet driving requirements), and be willing and able to drive 15 passenger vans Locations: Midvale, UT
