VisionQuest is seeking an Employment Screening Coordinator, also known as a Background Check Specialist, to support pre-employment and ongoing staff clearance requirements for programs serving Unaccompanied Children.
This is a process-driven, administrative role focused on tracking, documentation, and coordination — not high-level HR or compliance strategy. Training is provided.
This position is ideal for someone with administrative, HR support, recruiting, or onboarding experience who enjoys structured, detail-oriented work.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate background checks and clearances for new hires and current employeesTrack and maintain documentation including fingerprints, TB tests, drug screens, registry checks, and affidavitsEnsure all pre-employment and annual screening requirements are completed on timeMaintain accurate, audit-ready electronic personnel filesMonitor expiration dates and follow up on missing or expiring documentationCommunicate requirements and timelines clearly to staff and supervisorsSupport internal audits and compliance reviewsWork closely with HR, Compliance, and Program leadership

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred1–3 years of administrative, HR support, recruiting, or compliance-related experience highly preferredStrong attention to detail and organizationComfortable working with documentation and deadlinesProficient with Google Workspace or similar systemsAbility to handle sensitive information with discretion
Additional Requirements:
Ability to pass background checks and drug screeningTB test clearance and required vaccinationsCPR/First Aid and CPI certification (or ability to obtain)Valid driver’s licenseBilingual English/Spanish preferred
Working/Physical Requirements:
May lift and carry up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds infrequently.Performs tasks that may involve standing or walking 50% of the day; sitting 50%of the day.May bend, stoop, reach and grasp as necessary.Must be able to provide First Aid and CPR.Must be able to perform physical holds as instructed in Crisis Prevention Intervention training (CPI).
