At GuidePoint Security, our consultants help customers solve complex security challenges through a combination of strategic guidance, technical depth, and hands-on execution.
We are seeking a Security Consultant – Identity & SecOps to support our Mid-Atlantic (Mid-A) Security Consulting practice. This role will focus heavily on Microsoft Entra ID, Identity & Access Management (IAM), SaaS and M365 security hardening, and foundational security architecture improvements. The ideal candidate will also have experience supporting Security Operations (SecOps) initiatives including SIEM, SOC, ITDR, and Zero Trust aligned programs.
The consultant will primarily support Mid-Atlantic customers while collaborating across GuidePoint’s broader Security Consulting (SecCon) and Security Operations (SecOps) teams.
What You’ll Do
Assess, design, and improve Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD environments
Implement and harden foundational M365 and Azure security controls
Support Identity governance, MFA, Conditional Access, PIM, RBAC, and passwordless initiatives
Assist customers with FIDO2 security key deployments and identity hardening strategies
Perform Security Architecture Reviews and technical assessments
Develop actionable remediation recommendations and implementation roadmaps
Support ITDR, SIEM, SOC, and Zero Trust aligned initiatives
Work hands-on within customer environments to validate and implement recommendations
Produce high-quality customer deliverables and technical documentation
Serve as a trusted advisor to customer security and IT teams
Required Qualifications
4+ years of cybersecurity consulting, engineering, or architecture experience
Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD and M365 security
Experience implementing or administering IAM controls and authentication technologies
Understanding of Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, RBAC, PIM, and Zero Trust concepts
Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud security fundamentals
Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting security technologies
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple customer engagements in parallel
Eastern Time Zone availability required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with FIDO2 / passwordless authentication deployments
Experience with CrowdStrike, ITDR, SIEM, or SOC technologies
Familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Okta, Duo, SailPoint, CyberArk, or related platforms
AWS security experience
Consulting or professional services background strongly preferred
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, SC-300, AZ-500, or SC-100
Location & Travel
Remote position supporting the GuidePoint Security Mid-Atlantic (Mid-A) region
Candidates located in NC, VA, MD, DC, DE, PA, or NJ strongly preferred
Limited travel based on customer and engagement requirements
