Key Responsibilities:
Production Oversight & Coordination
Support daily production schedules and ensure timely completion of fabrication work
Supervise welders, fitters, and shop personnel during shift operations
Assign tasks and adjust staffing levels to optimize productivity
Monitor workflow and adapt to changing production needs
Team Leadership & Support
Provide hands-on guidance in layout, welding techniques, and drawing interpretation
Assist in resolving fabrication challenges and technical issues
Promote safe work practices and reinforce company standards
Provide feedback and support employee development
Quality & Safety
Work with quality personnel to ensure compliance with AISC standards
Enforce safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Support continuous improvement in quality and safety performance
Equipment & Operations
Coordinate with maintenance teams to reduce downtime and maintain production flow
Monitor equipment performance and report any issues
Administrative Support
Assist with training, onboarding, and employee evaluations
Support timekeeping, documentation, and disciplinary processes as needed
Participate in hiring activities for fabrication personnel
Perform additional duties to support overall shop operations
Required Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, welding processes, and layout techniques
Experience working with CNC fabrication equipment and shop machinery
Understanding of production efficiency, safety practices, and quality standards
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Strong communication and organizational skills
Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays as needed
High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous supervisory or leadership experience in fabrication or manufacturing
Technical certifications or an associate degree in a related field
Familiarity with AISC standards and structural steel production processes
