Now, we’re entering a new phase of growth and are looking for a Shipping Specialist to join our team, contributing to supporting the preparation, order fulfillment, and shipment of small unmanned aerial systems and ancillaries. The ideal candidate will thrive working in an innovative and fast-paced work environment, have excellent critical thinking and attention to detail skills, and will play a pivotal role in shaping and operating PDW’s shipping operations for multiple best-in-class sUAS products.
What You’ll Do
Support shipping operations including detailed review of sales orders, freight quotes and coordination, artifact creation, shipment preparation, and systematic order fulfillment.
Support audit process ensuring all documents, artifacts, products, and kits are packaged per standard and accurate prior to shipment.
Support physical pack process collaborating with Production, Inventory, and Production Planning Teams for readiness to meet requested customer ship dates.
Support coordination with Quality Assurance Team to perform inspections to ensure product quality and customer on-time shipments.
Support pick-up coordination with third-party logistics providers to meet on-time delivery requirements.
Support daily shipments of goods to partners, suppliers, and customers using FedEx and UPS.
Support partnership with Planning Team to ensure sales orders are fulfilled within ERP NetSuite timely.
Requirements
1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing shipping operations environment.
Familiarity with ERP systems; NetSuite WMS experience is highly preferred.
Proven experience in Shipping and Fulfillment performing work to execute shipments accurately and on-time.
Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple activities simultaneously.
A keen eye for detail working with processing aircraft, ancillaries, documentation, and artifacts to meet accuracy and packaging requirements.
Forklift certification and experience preferred with knowledge of equipment safety inspections.
Commitment to a strong safety culture with engagement in continuous improvement activities to further develop safety culture.
Exposure to, or experience in, an ISO9001-2015 / AS9100 quality environment
Experience using Microsoft Office products
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and methodologies such as 5S, line balancing, problem solving, bottleneck resolution, performance metric management, Kanban, waste reduction, etc.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, and move about regularly throughout the day and lift / carry up to 50 pounds. Must have manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment as well as equipment and tools used in a warehouse, manufacturing, and shipping environment, including moving, packing, and staging shipments. Must be physically capable of Loading and unloading inbound and outbound shipments manually, pallet jack, or forklift.
Work Environment
This position typically operates in a professional, climate-controlled office, warehouse, manufacturing, and shipping environment. This role requires use of standard office equipment and may involve exposure to equipment, tools, and machinery used for moving, packing, and staging shipments. This position may have exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold, as well as noise and non-climate-controlled environments. May require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety gloves, goggles, and hearing protection depending on the environment. This is a fast-paced work environment and requires cross-departmental collaboration with independent and team-based responsibilities. Standard work hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional overtime as operational needs demand.
