Summer Overnight Camp Counselor

Important Details - Work Schedule: Overnight camps are a 24/7 operation. The leadership team will create a schedule that provides you with one evening off/week and segments of other time off throughout the week. Staff are required to live on site in the provided housing. - Position Duration: Overnight camp programs run from May 31 through August 1. Starting weekly are below: - Instructors: $440/week - Specialists: $462- $528/week - Relevant Certification Bonuses https://avid4adventure.notion.site/Required-Certifications-115c5dee95a381f9a013e92f33a2d5c9: - Wilderness First Aid: $100 - Wilderness First Responder/EMT: $350 - Additional bonuses available for $100 - $400 per certification paid end-of-season We have limited positions available for non-drivers. Drivers must be 20+, have had a valid driver's license for 3+ years, and a clean driving record. Job Duties - Provide 24-hour support with guidance, supervision, safety and comfort for participants during all activities. - Co-lead daily outdoor programming including mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, SUPing and Leave No Trace principles.  - Organize and participate in camp programming, ranging from outdoor sports to camp games and rituals - Follow and educate campers on safety protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants - Serve as a role model and guide campers by exhibiting appropriate behavior, attitudes, and activities - Provide exceptional customer service to parents and all participants in our programs. - If you are a trained Driver, transport up to 13 campers to and from program areas with company passenger vans. - Candidates with increased experience in one or more of our core sports may serve as a program area expert (i.e., as a Specialist) either supporting multi sport camps or instructing single sport camps in: climbing, mountain biking, whitewater paddling, or survival skills.   Your Background  - Our visa window is closed and we are no longer accepting applicants who require visa sponsorship. - Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of camp for all positions (limited non-driver roles) - Drivers: Must be at least 20 years of age, 3-year valid driver’s license, and have a clean driving record - +1 years of experience working with kids in a professional or volunteer setting preferred - Experience in our core sports is highly preferred, but not required for all positions (required for Specialists) - Minimum of Basic First Aid, CPR, and Mandatory Reporter certification https://avid4adventure.notion.site/Required-Certifications-115c5dee95a381f9a013e92f33a2d5c9 by the start of camp (and we can point you in the right direction to get this done!!)
