AR/AP Accountant

About the role The AR/AP Specialist supports daily accounts payable and accounts receivable operations, ensuring accurate invoice processing, timely payments, and proper billing and collections. This role helps maintain strong cash flow, clean financial records, and effective coordination with vendors, clients, and internal teams. Responsibilities Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and employee expense reports with accuracy and timeliness.Ensure proper coding, approval, and documentation of all payables in accordance with company policies.Maintain vendor records and handle vendor communications regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies.Prepare weekly payment runs, ensuring payments are processed and recorded correctly.Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger on a regular basis.Accounts Receivable.Generate and issue client invoices based on project milestones, time entries, and contract terms.Record client payments and ensure accurate application to accounts.Monitor aging reports, follow up on outstanding balances, and assist in collections efforts.Collaborate with project management and client teams to resolve billing or payment discrepancies.Maintain AR documentation for audit and reporting purposes. Qualifications 2–4 years of experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, preferably in a professional services, agency, or project-based environment.Strong knowledge of accounting principles related to AP/AR, including invoice processing, expense reports, reconciliations, and aging analysis.Experience with accounting or ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and high proficiency in Excel (lookups, pivot tables, basic formulas).High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines (weekly payment runs, month-end close).Strong communication skills, with experience interacting professionally with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.Organizational and documentation skills, including maintaining audit-ready records and following internal controls and approval processes.
