About this role
Summary
Foundation Academies seeks a highly effective and detail-oriented Summer Bridge Lead to support the execution of our 9th Grade Summer Bridge Program. This role is critical to ensuring incoming high school scholars build the academic foundation and habits necessary for success in Science, Math, and ELA. This role includes pre-program planning and post-program follow-through in addition to daily execution. Success in this role will be measured by student academic growth, quality and consistency of instruction, effectiveness of data tracking and progress monitoring, and overall program execution and team support.
The Summer Bridge Lead supports both instructional quality and daily operations, working closely with teachers and leadership to ensure strong implementation of curriculum, consistent use of data, and a structured, engaging scholar experience. This role requires someone who can coach teachers, monitor progress daily, and ensure the program runs smoothly and effectively.

Program Details
Dates: July 13 – August 6
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8am-3:30pm
Location: Trenton, NJ
Must be available in person for all Summer Bridge dates
Compensation
Total Stipend: $5,000
Payment Structure:
50% ($2,500) paid prior to the start of Summer Bridge in recognition of responsibilities including:
Supporting staffing of the program
Ensuring invited scholars are enrolled and committed to attend
Assisting with program planning and readiness
50% ($2,500) paid upon successful completion of the program, contingent upon:
Full execution of program responsibilities
Submission of all required data, reports, and materials
Meeting program expectations for instructional support and operations
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Support & Teacher Development
Support teachers in delivering standards-aligned instruction in Science, Math, and ELA
Review lesson plans and provide feedback to ensure alignment between standards, objectives, instruction, and assessment
Monitor classroom instruction and support teachers in strengthening student engagement, discourse, and rigor
Assist teachers in using daily checks for understanding and student work to adjust instruction
Data & Progress Monitoring
Oversee systems for daily student data tracking and progress monitoring
Analyze student performance trends and support teachers in identifying instructional priorities
Ensure consistent use of data trackers and progress monitoring tools
Monitor scholar growth throughout the program and support end-of-program reporting
Program Operations
Support daily operations including:
Attendance tracking
Behavior monitoring
Transitions and overall program structure
Coordinate with staff to ensure smooth execution of the daily schedule
Provide coverage as needed to maintain continuity of instruction
Staff Collaboration & Communication
Lead or support teacher planning meetings focused on instructional improvement
Communicate regularly with program leadership regarding scholar progress and program needs
Provide proactive updates to staff on trends in student performance and areas for focus
Support a collaborative, solutions-oriented team environment
Pre-Program Responsibilities
Support student enrollment efforts to ensure strong attendance and participation
Assist with staff onboarding and clarity around instructional and operational expectations
Help ensure systems (data trackers, schedules, materials) are in place prior to program launch
Qualifications
NJ Certification required
Experience teaching or leading at the middle or high school level (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to:
Analyze student data and support instructional adjustments
Coach or support other educators
Maintain strong organization and follow-through
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Commitment to equity and experience working with diverse student populations
