About this role

Summary Foundation Academies’ Summer Bridge Program is designed to ensure incoming 9th grade scholars build the academic foundation and confidence needed for success in high school. The program prioritizes literacy, mathematics, and scientific thinking, with a focus on critical thinking, problem-solving, and strong academic habits. This role is ideal for educators who are committed to accelerating student learning and ensuring readiness for the rigor of high school. High expectations for both academic achievement and student engagement are essential. The Summer Bridge Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, standards-aligned instruction and ensuring scholars are actively engaged in rigorous learning every day. This role requires a strong ability to analyze student data, adjust instruction in real time, and build a classroom culture that promotes effort, discourse, and mastery.  Reports To Summer Bridge Lead Program Details Dates: July 13 – August 6 Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8am-3:30pm Compensation: $40 per hour Location: Trenton, NJ Must be available in person for all Summer Bridge dates What You’ll Do Deliver standards-aligned instruction in Science, Math, and/or ELA, focused on foundational high school readiness skills Ensure tight alignment between standards, objectives, instruction, and daily assessments (exit tickets) Build a classroom culture that emphasizes academic discourse, critical thinking, and productive struggle Use daily checks for understanding and student work to adjust instruction and address misconceptions in real time Track and monitor student progress throughout the program using provided data systems Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including targeted support for students below grade level Collaborate with colleagues to plan, reflect, and improve instructional practice Maintain strong classroom management systems that maximize instructional time and student engagement What You’ll Gain Opportunity to directly impact scholars’ transition into high school Experience delivering accelerated, high-impact instruction across core content areas Development in data-driven instruction and real-time instructional adjustments Collaboration with a mission-driven team focused on excellence and equity Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required  NJ Certification required Experience teaching middle or high school scholars strongly preferred Strong content knowledge in Math, Science, and/or ELA Demonstrated ability to: Analyze student data and adjust instruction Facilitate student discourse and engagement Build strong classroom culture and relationships Commitment to culturally responsive teaching and working with diverse student populations   Offices: Foundation Collegiate Academy (High School);
