About the role:
We are looking for a Manager to join our Fraud Strategy team with a focus on payments transaction risk. This role is for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and data-driven environment. The key objectives of this role are to minimize fraud losses and operational costs while enabling improved experiences and ensuring compliance. In this role, you will develop and own fraud strategies across all card and money movement rails, debit and credit disputes processing and merchant chargeback processes. This is a critical role for the company at a time of rapid scale, and requires a leader with a business owner mentality and exceptional analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
Develop and own strategy for payments risk capabilities (automated and manual) that will enable growth while minimizing risk, including money-in and money-out transactions, disputes processing, and negative balance management
Forecast, manage and be accountable for total cost of risk including loss prevention and detection costs and cost of false positives to maximize risk adjusted returns
Support the overall Payments Team risk roadmap, including exploratory analysis, business case development, experimental design, performance forecasting and monitoring, model monitoring
Own incident detection and management, including root cause analysis, resolution, and communication to internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Data teams and other internal and external partners to deliver the the payments risk roadmap
Contribute to a robust risk management culture at Current
Identify and exploit emerging tools, capabilities, and/or data sources
Develop and leverage expertise in regulations and external partners / value chains e.g. VISA, Money-Movement Partners, and offshore vendors in order to deliver business results
Partner with Fraud Operations and Compliance teams to ensure compliance, including procedure management and adherence, regulatory / bank partner exams, and issue resolution.
About You:
Fraud leader - Has experience in Fraud Risk in a Consumer Banking/ related domain
Solid foundation in data sources, tools, and strategies for mitigating Fraud risk
Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Builds context and tells a cohesive story across multiple complex systems.
Critical thinker - you consider problems from all angles to remove bias and touch bottom on key assumptions
Results-oriented - you ground contributions in business and customer impact and prioritize effectively to maximize speed-to-impact.
Creative problem-solver - identifies obstacles; investigates and presents viable solutions

Requirements:
4+ years of progressive experience in analytics functions, mainly as an individual contributor performing quantitative analysis
Prior experience in fraud risk risk management is required; Experience in payments risk strategy in consumer banking preferred
Undergraduate Degree with a quantitative major in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
Strong experience in exploratory and business analysis, experimental design, profitability drivers / unit economics
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Strong thought leader and collaborator
Able to handle competing priorities and influence leadership decision-making.
This role has a base salary range of $150,000-$195,000. Compensation is determined based on experience, skill level, and qualifications, which are assessed during the interview process.
