Powerhouse Arts (PHA) is a not-for-profit organization committed to creative expression. Located in a purpose-built facility in Brooklyn, PHA convenes an extended network of art and fabrication professionals and educators who co-create and share artistic practices vital to the well-being of artists and the communities to which they belong. PHA offers fabrication programs in ceramics, print, and public art; alongside membership studios in ceramics and at MGC Community Print Studio, textile workshop, The Alpha Workshops; and spaces for education, events, and public engagement.
As we expand our impact, we are growing our team by hiring for key roles to support our expanding offerings. We are seeking a Ceramics Fabrication Project Manager who will oversee all aspects of project management in the ceramic studio and will play a key role in working with the Ceramics Director to facilitate client projects. The Project manager will support the daily operations of the shop’s management and will be the primary liaison between the studio and the artist. This role will be responsible for executing ceramics fabrication projects and participating in shop organization and maintenance as needed.
Areas of responsibility include:
Maintain and monitor project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures
Serve as project lead on select projects, from early concept through final delivery
Manage a team of three fabricators and hold regular one-on-one check-ins to support growth and alignment
Organize and participate in planning meetings with the client and the Ceramics Director
Oversee documentation, coordination, and communication of project change orders, ensuring updates reach clients and internal teams
Lead daily check-ins with the fabrication team to review priorities, deadlines, and task distribution
Develop and implement workflows that support clarity, efficiency, and creative problem-solving
Track project progress and address challenges proactively
Implement quality standards to ensure all deliverables meet studio expectations
Maintain a project management calendar to keep all phases on track
Manage studio materials and inventory, including ordering equipment and supplies as needed
In partnership with the Ceramics Director, prepare and send estimates and invoices and collect tax forms for new clients
Prepare the studio for client visits and project needs, ensuring a functional, welcoming, and creative environment
Maintain adherence to studio safety practices and regulations
Collaborate with staff, shops, and departments across the studio to support shared projects and workflows
Qualifications:
3–5 years of relevant experience
Strong ceramic fabrication skills across a range of techniques
Basic 3D rendering abilities
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and solve problems independently
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable working both collaboratively and independently
Flexible, creative, and resourceful approach to work
Proficiency with file management systems
Fluency in G Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Box, and related platforms

Hours + Compensation: The schedule for this position is an 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Flexibility on evenings and weekends for events and classes is required. The salary range for this position is $70,000-77,000 annually.
