Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator with deep expertise in VMware virtualization technologies to support, maintain, and enhance our enterprise infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security across virtualized environments, while serving as a technical escalation point and mentor to junior team members. Active Top Secret or Interim Top Secret clearance required. country: US all locations: [Patuxent River, MD] commitment: Full Time department: Client Opportunities location: Patuxent River, MD team: System Engineering Openings Responsibilities:: Design, implement, and maintain VMware environments (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)Manage and optimize virtual infrastructure performance, capacity, and availabilityAdminister Windows and/or Linux server environments in virtualized settingsPerform system upgrades, patching, backups, and disaster recovery planning/testingMonitor system health and proactively troubleshoot complex infrastructure issuesSupport storage and networking components related to virtualization (SAN/NAS, VLANs, NIC teaming)Implement and maintain security best practices, access controls, and system hardeningCollaborate with IT leadership, application teams, and vendors on infrastructure initiativesServe as a technical escalation resource for system-related incidents and outagesDocument system configurations, procedures, and operational standardsMentor junior administrators and contribute to process improvements
