Role: Account Director
Location: Manila, Philippines
About the role:
This is an opportunity to join OLIVER's award-winning in-house studio embedded with a leading global consumer goods brand in Manila, as an Account Director delivering best-in-class client services across retail, digital content, and social campaigns.
Based in Manila and working on-site, you'll lead the day-to-day management of a fast-moving creative account — acting as the primary client contact and ensuring seamless delivery across multiple concurrent projects. Your ability to build trusted client relationships, drive high-quality output, and keep complex workstreams on track will be central to the studio's success.
We offer reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process.
The Account Director is responsible for the health and performance of a major creative account. You'll oversee project delivery, client satisfaction, and team coordination — serving as the key escalation point for clients and internal teams alike.
Working closely with creative, production, and operations leads, you'll ensure the studio consistently delivers work that meets and exceeds client expectations. You'll also identify growth opportunities, support the development of your team, and uphold the agency's standards of service and quality.
What you will be doing:
Client Services:
Act as the primary day-to-day client contact, ensuring a consistently positive and proactive client experience
Maintain clear, timely communication with clients — in person and supported by documentation in writing
Champion brand guardianship across all projects, ensuring consistency and quality at every touchpoint
Constructively challenge clients where appropriate and proactively present added-value solutions developed with the project team
Negotiate outcomes that work for both the client and the agency team, balancing ambition with delivery reality
Stay current with industry developments, innovations, and agency case studies — bringing relevant insights to clients
Processes and Operations:
Ensure internal processes are followed consistently across the account
Train and onboard team members on internal workflows and ways of working
Serve as the escalation point when client or internal SLAs are not met; work with relevant stakeholders to identify and resolve process gaps
Communicate process changes and studio updates clearly to the team and ensure adoption
Triage incoming briefs using the tier system in collaboration with the Client Services Manager and Lead Creative
Allocate account management resource across the team
Identify significant upcoming workloads that could impact studio capacity and escalate proactively to senior leadership
Project Delivery:
Lead delivery on Tier 2 and Tier 3 projects, as well as new business opportunities and new work types
Monitor project run rates and client satisfaction through regular check-ins with job owners and weekly WIP reviews
Escalate at-risk projects to senior leadership promptly and with clear context
Support job owners to keep projects on track, ensuring the client's objectives and the agency's delivery requirements are mutually understood
New Business Development:
Identify organic growth opportunities through existing client relationships, actively looking to expand the scope and value of the studio's work
Work with creative and senior leadership to develop proposals and plans for new capabilities or services
Team Development:
Manage and develop direct and/or indirect reports, supporting their performance and professional growth
Foster a collaborative, client-centric team culture that values quality, accountability, and continuous learning
Actively contribute to knowledge-sharing and facilitate learning across the studio
Support improvements to business practices, creative processes, and internal ways of working
What you need to be great in this role:
Proven experience managing creative accounts across retail, digital content, and social campaigns in a creative agency environment
Track record of building strong, trust-based client relationships and delivering against complex, multi-project accounts
Solid understanding of creative agency workflows, from brief to final delivery
Experience managing and developing team members, with a focus on performance and growth
Commercially aware, with hands-on experience managing project-level budgets, invoicing, and financial admin
Strong organisational skills — able to manage and prioritise multiple workloads in a fast-paced environment
Clear, confident communicator with the ability to work effectively across client-side and agency teams
Professional proficiency in English required; proficiency in Filipino is an advantage
Budget and Financial Management:
Experience managing project-level production budgets, including cost tracking, purchase orders, and invoice reconciliation
Ability to report on budget performance and flag financial risks to senior stakeholders early
Gen AI and Agentic Thinking:
Advanced proficiency with Gen AI tools relevant to account management and client services, using them to improve efficiency, communication quality, and output
Experience designing AI-assisted workflows for yourself and supporting the team in adopting them effectively
Ability to train team members on effective use of AI tools within the discipline
Agentic approach to managing complex, multi-workstream accounts — breaking down challenges systematically and identifying clear paths forward
Strong understanding of where AI adds value and where human judgment must take precedence, with rigorous oversight of AI outputs
Qualifications: Formal degrees are welcome but not required. Equivalent experience counts. Experience can be gained through work, study, volunteering, or self-directed learning.
If you're excited about this role but don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply.
