About this role
Premier Automation is seeking an Industrial Electrician to assemble, wire, and troubleshoot industrial control panels, power drives, VFDs, and motor control systems in a dedicated panel shop at our Monroeville, PA campus. This role is best suited for electricians or electrical assemblers with 2–5 years of hands-on experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment who take pride in high-quality workmanship and prefer focused, shop-based automation work.

Position Type: Full-time, hourly role with overtime eligibility
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Location & Work Environment: Monroeville, PA, working in a clean, organized, temperature-controlled production facility
Team & Reporting: Reports to the General Manager of Manufacturing & Operations and works closely with crew leaders, shop trainers, and production team members

Interview & Onboarding Process: Virtual screening interview, on-site interview and facility tour, reference checks, and pre-employment screening
Duties and Responsibilities
As an Industrial Electrician, you will:
Assemble, wire, and troubleshoot industrial electrical control panels and enclosures
Build and wire motor control circuits, VFDs, power drives, and related automation equipment
Layout and organize enclosures, back panels, and subpanels according to drawings and specifications
Install and mount electrical components, devices, and wiring hardware
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of material
Apply proper wiring methods, terminations, labeling, and voltage separation practices
Verify components and assemblies for accuracy, quality, and compliance with drawings
Troubleshoot wiring, component, and assembly issues during build and checkout
Use basic computer systems for labeling, documentation, and shop tracking
Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow safety and quality standards
Support and mentor less experienced electricians as needed while continuing to refine technical skills
Experience and Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
Educational background in Electrical Technology or a related field, or equivalent hands-on industrial experience
2–5 years of experience wiring and assembling industrial electrical control panels in a shop environment
Strong experience with motor control systems, including contactors, overloads, power distribution, and VFDs
Ability to independently read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints
Experience working with industrial automation components and panel-mounted devices
Proven troubleshooting skills related to wiring, components, and panel builds
High attention to detail and commitment to clean, high-quality workmanship
Comfortable using hand and power tools in an industrial manufacturing environment
Basic computer skills for documentation, labeling, and shop systems
Positive, team-oriented attitude with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Physical & Work Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move throughout an 8-hour shift
Frequent repetitive hand movements requiring fine motor skills and manual dexterity
Ability to work in tight or enclosed spaces using hands, arms, and upper body positioning
Ability to safely use hand and power tools in a manufacturing environment
